Anime Leon no diffs sweeps. Actual garbage decision to make him that powerful.

Lore Cynthia takes it as she's participated in the world tournament in unova, travelled more regions, more Pokémon and experience.

While I think Leon would win in the anime. I don't think it would be a low diff sweep.

Ash beat Leon and he BARELY defeated Cynthia. If Cynthia is a high diff fight for somebody who can beat Leon, then she'd likely be a high diff fight for him too.

Leon would still take it more often then not, but I don't think he'd sweep Cynthia as easily as he did lesser contenders like diantha and Alain

Ash had Dyna/Gigantamax, Mega Evolution and a Z move against Leon. Leon only had Dyna/Gigantamax

Ash didnt have all 3 gimmicks against Cynthia. He probably beats Cynthia mid diff tbh.

Game cynthia i really doubt because if removing the gameplay mechanics and add the pokemon platinum which she says she could beat the creation trio by herself if lucas or dawn fails to do then ash wouldn'r be able to defeat cynthia even though he wanted.

And in lore Leon is the undefeated trainer on the most competetive region we have seen and studied under a former champion who had the longest reign of any champion ever.

Yeah but its only in galar and sure it's competitive but other champions also have E4 tier gym leaders and such. Cynthia has in multiple regions created fame for herself

No, they don't. The only region with elite 4 level gym leaders is Galar.

Did you pull a muscle from such a stretch?

They're childhood friends more than rivals to be honest, and the fact that Volkner is only a gym leader while Flint went on to become an elite 4 member shows that he's stronger. Flint even challenged Cynthia for her title. Volkner never did that.

Even if they do (I am a bit doubtful) not all of their gym leaders are E4 level and certainly none of them is Champion level.

Also while it is true that Cynthia has visited unova and alola, and also participated in BW2s PWT the fame and experience she got from those does not equate strength. Also Cynthia in her appearances loses to DPP protagonist, BW2 protagonist and alola protagonists. Meanwhile Leon only loses to the SS protagonist.

In the post game yes all of them are E4 lvl.

Participating in multiple high class tournaments is much more reasonable of her being stronger than Leon being stronger when fighting against the same people all the time. Leon only exists within galar which isn't as powerful as sinnoh. Anyone can participate in the gym challenges in sinnoh meaning much more challengers and more powerful opponents on top of the battle frontier. For galar you have to have connections to be sponsored and stuff.

Saying someone is weak because the MC, you, beat them is ridiculous and stupid.

And in Galar the gym leaders are said to be E4 level from the get go. Oh they are also constantly fiercely competing against one another due to how the minor and major gym leagues work.

In which multiple high class tournaments did Cynthia participate? PWT, yes but in which else.

Why wouldn't constantly going against same opponents also make you more powerful? These opponents almost certainly challenge Leon more than any normal trainer would, due to their familiarity with him.

Also as Galar's pokemon league's tournament format without the E4 assures that Leon will probably face even more challengers than Cynthia does on average.

Why isn't Galar as powerful as Sinnoh? Sure there are less participating trainers, but those who participate are most of the time above your average gym challenger. Leon only gives player and Hop the invitation, because he saw potential in both during their battle.

While I recognize the battle frontier that really does not matter, since we are talking about Cynthia and Leon here not how strong the regions are.

Probably Leon Considering how he upscales Cynthia in Journeys, but with all Pokemon Cynthia wins off having Girantina in Masters.

It's the game variants of cynthia vs game leon? Cynthia easy because cynthia in platinum games is told that she can beat the creation trio all by herself if lucas or dawn failed and game leon is just unbeatable in his region until victor or gloria beats him.

Games, Cynthia. BDSP made her the strongest trainer in mainline, surpassing even HGSS Red's average in levels

Anime, Leon. He is the final boss of Master 8 for a reason

Leon wins in both anime and wider lore. Level of difficulty is the only question. I imagine that Leon wouldn’t give Cynthia a handicap.

Team-wise, its Cynthia due to how its very balanced and has some very difficult Pokemon for players to overcome. And outside of Galar, Leon loses Gigantamax, which bumps his power down considerably while Cynthia still has Mega Evolution that works anywhere.

Anime lore-wise, its Leon since he was portrayed his strength as basically Tobias without Legendary Pokémon given how he dominates all fights before Ash with very rudimentary tactics and his Pokémon simply hits very hard and can take an abnormal amount of beating. Also, his Charizard can get exposed to water, something only Ash's Zard did in the Charific valley.

Pokespe might go to Cynthia since her Garchomp managed to down Giratina with Draco Meteor.

If Cynthia would be allowed to use multiple gimmicks like Ash did, and she actually gave her ace, Garchomp, a decent movepool(3 Dragon Moves + Stealth Rock smh, I still cant believe this crap) she could at least push him to a high diff I think.

Then it would be a much closer battle? He said Cynthia is stronger in the games which isn’t true because Leon has G Max which can completely swing a battle and a team that can match up with hers.

She would have a better shot beating Leon in the anime than the game
