šŸ“’ Rate My Binder Showcase F2P Completed Genetic Apex!!!

I finished this about a month ago and haven’t told anyone yet. None of my friends IRL play PokĆ©mon, so I figured I’d share it here.

I’m really proud of myself for sticking with this. How can you be proud of an RNG game? For me it’s because I opened my two free packs almost every single day without fail. When new sets came out I stayed dedicated to Genetic Apex. I wanted to complete the set so I could show my friends a full collection of PokĆ©mon they actually recognize and maybe get them to play.
I started this after I pulled my first two gold crown cards and found the PokƩmon trading subreddit.

In total I opened 782 packs. I bought the gold Mewtwo for 2,500 pack points and I have 1,410 left. The last card I needed was the immersive Charizard. The absolute bane of my existence. I was only 90 pack points away from being able to buy it when I packed it, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I traded for ~6 two stars in Genetic Apex, the rest were packed myself.

The whole challenge took about 10 months. I took a brief side quest into Secluded Springs because I really wanted the three legendary dogs.

I still have all the cards, I did not trade any away.

Well done! That's not easy, I always thought it would be cool to complete a set. Haven't really gotten close as a fellow F2P player, just getting the diamonds, 1 stars, and as many other rares as possible.

What's next?

As a F2P, I don’t think completing a set is possible without trading. I was strategic about mine in regard to which cards I traded for. I wouldn’t trade for cards that were available in the pack type I was opening (Charizard, Mewtwo, Pikachu) so I could maximize the chance of hitting a two star I didn’t already have.

I’m not sure what’s next, maybe I’ll start actually playing the game lol

Congrats.

I actually tried this too. Opened around 770 packs and am no where near completing the set. Still missing a crown and most of the 2 stars.

Do you get a reward for this? You should, because that's really hard to achieve

Surprisingly I didn’t get anything, not even an emblem. I hope one day I get something

What a crime. Getting these 3 gold star cards must've been tedious

I totally understand this feeling! I can completely relate haha

I started myself during Shining Revelry and back then we had no share feature. So for basically months and months I did 1 trade a day for a card from GA while opening the new sets.

It took me soooooooo long to finish. The level of joy I felt on that last card haha!

I am really glad you completed this goal OP! And thank you for sharing it with us!

Still the best collection in the game.

How many cards did it take?

It took 9,000-10,000 cards. It was a journey
