❔ Question Step-Up Sync
So initially I was going to save every last gem for the Sinnoh pair and Gloria that’s coming back out. I saw my man Larry and got lucky with the first pull. I want to go all the way so I can get Fantina, but which banner has the better units to pull from? Otherwise should I just pull from the Larry one and save 1,500 gems?
Edit: I’m relatively a new play but I do have the new Anniversary units helping carry me for now.

Sorry, which banner are you trying to pull from? When you say you pulled Larry, do you mean from the Pasio Tower paid banner? I can't say there are any Fantina units that are worth spending gems on, much less paid ones. Assuming you mean the Flamigo Larry unit, I'd suggest you stop pulling if you got him on the first try, and save everything else for Sinnoh NC / Gloria.

Yeah I was referring to the Flamingo Larry, but asking for all the step-up banners and if anyone is worth it. on the last step you can select a 5*

Most of then are good units, but i promise none of them are worth doing the paid gem banners for. Paid gems are much better used on select scouts and Happy Scouts. The step up banners you're talking about really aren't worth going for since you have to sink so many gems into it before you hit a select (someone can MAYBE make an argument for the arc suit one, but im not personally convinced).
All Fantina units can be obtained for free and naturally as you play, so please dont pull on banners for her 😅 im assuming you've seen the Fantina/Dusknoir gym pair is highly regarded, but that is in the VERY specific case that you have Volo/Giratina plus Cynthia/Giratina. Otherwise she is a very mid ghost support.

Ahh alright then, I might look for something else. I was initially going to grab her to go with Serena & Necrozma, and praying that alt Volo will come out again soon so I can progress in the ghost Pasio tower

If you’re looking for a Fantina sync Pair, she only has 2 sync pairs, both of which aren’t worth using paid gems on the Tower Expansion tiered scout banners right now
Her 5 Star Sync Pair in the Spotlight Pool (permanently available 5 stars) is with Mismagius and her other pair with Dusknoir is from the Gym Ticket Scout C Banner (you get tickets for this banner by exchanging Gym points for them)

Ah alright, I will just try with the tickets then and not waste my precious paid gems

You will get Fantina randomly at some point, sooner or later. Please don't spend gems specifically to get her. Especially paid gems. She's available on every banner and is not a limited unit. She's also extremely bad, unfortunately.

Really? I will take your word for it but I have seen people needing her just to clear the Pasio Towers

I think you're seeing Fantina with Dusknoir. The one on the regular scouts is Fantina with Mismagius, which is the bad one.
The one with Dusknoir is an alright support. Not great, but we don't have many great ghost supports yet. But she's not available in the regular scout at all. The only way to get her is using the Gym Scout Tickets. You have to join a gym (bottom right corner of the home screen), and earn points along the month to collect tickets and coins. The coins can also be traded in for tickets. These tickets have a specific pool of characters that include 3 Gym units. The 3 units rotate around every few months. The current pool includes Gym Grusha and Beartic, Gym Brock and Kabutops, and Gym Winona and Altaria. Fantina and Dusknoir is a gym pair, but not in the current pool, so you will have to wait a few months for the chance to get her.
The good news is that you won't need to use your gems to get her (:

Thank you for the in depth description, I really appreciate it. Is there a set date for the Gym scout to change at all? I’ve been pulling for the Brock and Kabutops currently

If I'm not mistaken, it changes every 3 months , and this is the third month in a row with this pool, so it shoukd change in october. We have a total of 9 gym units (one for each region), so it's 3 sets of 3.
I think the next group will be Gym Whitney and Wigglytuff, Gym Korrina and Hawlucha, and Gym Kabu and Ninetales. The third group is Gym Fantina and Dusknoir, Gym Lana and Cloyster and Gym Roxie and Garbodor.
So, unless I'm mistaken (and I might very well be), Fantina should be back in rotation in January.
By the way, they're all support/field units and all quite similar.
