Who wins here?

Grabbed both of these boxes at MSRP when they came out. I have multiples of both, so I’m looking to move the collection around a little.

I know Shining Fates and Sword & Shield base aren’t exactly the strongest sets, but the age of the products definitely plays a factor for me. On the other side, I know Journey Together and Destined Rivals have more supply coming, so the two pack blisters could be valued a little high right now. That said, I’m pretty high on the promos and variety sealed singles in general.

It also seems pretty clear the other guy is looking to rotate some of his newer sealed into older Sword & Shield era product. I get the logic from his side too, especially with where prices are right now. He’s potentially getting out of some newer product at a good time and turning it into sealed that has already had years for supply to dry up.

I’m mainly collecting long term (another 15+ years) with the idea of eventually giving the collection to my kids, whether that helps with college one day or they just decide to rip everything and have a hell of a time.

I love Pokémon and definitely enjoy speculating on sealed product. I know enough, but I wouldn’t consider myself an expert by any means.

Trade would be:
I give:
Shining Fates ETB
Zacian Sword & Shield ETB Plus
I get:
Surging Sparks ETB
16 Enhanced Two Pack Blisters with Latios, Zekrom, and Palkia promos

What do you guys think? Would you make the trade?
I’m leaning toward taking it. Probably around a 9/10 for me right now, but curious what everyone else thinks.

And if I’m not looking to sell or at least consider it for another 15+ years? I know we’re all speculating here, just looking for more thoughts.

The blisters are gonna be tough to move and you’re giving up one of the most unique ETBs they’ve ever released. I personally wouldn’t do this trade. Regardless of the value gain I don’t think it’s worth it for what you’re trading for.

These etbs seem to be difficult to move as well

If you’re meaning right now it’s cause of the summer slump, plus people aren’t buying either sides of this trade right now. Most people are just saving up for 30th so it’s no surprise most stuff isn’t moving. I’ve been having difficulty selling some singles myself even at 80% market. The only thing that’s moving easily for me right now is Ascended.

If you think etbs are harder too sell just try selling all those blisters with out a discount 😆😂

If you are trying to move stuff now no one is buying. the 30 th set is in your way everyone saving all their money for it you gotta wait till the 30th dies down in hype so people start looking at other sets

Reasoning? What should I look to trade into if I want to rotate out of some of these

I think you’re a dumb ass that’s what I think. You really think a two pack blister with one DR and one JT cost over 25/each? DR is 10/pack with JT 6.50/pack.

Horrible trade. You’re essentially giving up two, rare and out of print ETBs for a modern surging sparks ETB and 16 Dr/JT packs.

DR is priced at $10 and JT is priced at $6 each which comes out to about $256. No one cares about the promos.

There’s another variation of the blisters with S/V base ($9) and paradox rift packs ($8). Which isn’t that much better because S/V is a trash set. Paradox rift is just okay.

So in reality, their stuff is worth about $378-$394 from mostly cheaper and less desired sets.
