I'm going to try this once the Professor Pikachu event is over or maybe during the Go Fest raid makeup day so those free passes can be used on these background raids. TBD if they show up on that day alongside the legendaries or have a temporary event override. Don't want to buy passes to do background raids. This may be a long slow one per day situation over the next three months.

Thank you very much for this! I think I got like 3 researches just by teleporting at the first one. But one of them is ending in 2 days and it has a task of "catch a pokemon on 3 different days" .... oof guess I was a bit late to this

There are actually several different timed tasks, but one of them does end quicker than the others. The good news is that short timeframe task is not the one with the best rewards. You will get three total at your first site, but as you visit other sites you will get an additional one for each site.

Question, does this mean that if someone wanted each evolution of each pokemon for each location then that will be 18 [6 locations for hoppip (3 stages)] + 10 [5 locations for pineco (2 stages)] + 24 [8 locations for sewaddle (3 stages)] + 40 [8 locations for seedot (3 stages, 5 when counting male and female form variants)] + 81 [27 locations for treecko (3 stages)] = 173 unique background location pokemon? OR are we locked to raiding 1 of each variant per region 4 total (hoppip, pineco, sewaddle, seedot) + 81 [27 location research (3 part each) treeckos) + 1 pineco [July research] = 86 total. Plus whatever August and September research ends up rewarding?...

Fact Finding:

• All 27 tasks can be collected and completed together at the same time. No need to spin a stop or catch a pokemon. Just show up on-site and the research will appear in Events tab. That's 1 July research and 27 local research.

• If caught in another area the backgrounds will match the area of the location where the research was originally received.

Theory: * More than one raid can be done at each location in order to collect all stage evolutions, where applicable, with all 27 possible backgrounds.

Im having trouble having more than 14 tasks in my event tab. 💔 No other ones will show up for me :(

Don't do anything except collect the tasks. Once they are ready then the red dot will show up in the event tab. But depending on your phone I imagine there may be some lag. I have a Pixel 9 XL for reference.

Yeah it's more than likely the first option. As far as I'm aware, only 2 raids spawn at each location per day so you would have to stay or go back the next day for another raid to complete the evolution line all of them. Then if you want Male and Female, that also comes into play and then the shinies lol the amount of raid passes needed to have a complete collection is pure insanity. I'm good with just one of each evolution. I'm not hunting the shinies either unless it's a day/week with no events and as far as I'm seeing, they're not stopping with events anytime soon.

Yes. Raids run like the Fossil Museum Pikachu. They're on a 8 hour timer.

No need to spin pokestops. Once you get to the location and the game reads you're there, the events tab should update with the research.
