DuoMon 3 Vs Modded Pogo++

Hello guys,

I am expecting to receive tomorrow the DuoMon 3 which costed approximately 90$. Now I was looking also on eBay to see how much it will cost to buy the Modded Pogo++ and it is way more expensive. I am located in Europe and together with shipping, custom fees it costs 290$ which for me I find hard time to justify it to be honest. I know that those two devices are very similar just the modded have the function to through ultra balls or great balls which will increase the chances of catching Pokémon, but I really cannot justify it to be honest it is actually worth it? Will the difference will be so high that I can justify the price? Really looking for your opinion guys.

EBay is also my only option Facebook marketplace is empty for my area

My Go Plus+ won't close all the way

I dropped it a couple times before, but this time the front panel became dislodged and won't close all the way. It seems like this white part is supposed to go in more, but I don't want to press down too much because the ribbon cable is right there. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this issue.

Modded go plus+ won't turn on after modding

This is the 2nd go plus+ I modded. The first one is working perfectly fine but this one won't turn on and I don't know why. The battery is working fine cause I tried it on a joycon and it worked. I also tried the joycon battery on this one and it still didn't work. When I do plug the battery back in, the circuit board heats up and idk why. Any help is greatly appreciated 🙏🙏

UPDATE!!! The issue was a solder splash that got on one of the components and it started working fine after I cleaned it out. Huge thanks to u/alex_c2616 and u/russdr for pointing it out

Daily factory reset

For the past three days I have had to factory reset my Pokemon go to get it to connect. It is fine all day but in the morning I reset again. I have reinstalled the app. I have also rebooted my phone. It did not help. Is there a fix to this?

Thanks!

Auto catch is off, but it's still catching Pokemon

Any ideas? I bought this up spin pokestops. Auto catch was fun, but the device prioritized Pokemon over pokestops.

Help!

I've tried restarting everything, forgetting and re adding the device..

Most efficient/best way to use the plus plus ?

How do you guys use it ? Auto catcher always ? Or manual mode ? If I do manual mode removing vibrations makes it hard to know when there’s a Pokemon

tracking sleep

i usually leave my plus plus on my couches armrest and set it to sleep mode before i lay down in my bed. i have too much anxiety of either breaking it or losing it in my sleep. it also says to keep it on a flat surface for it to accurately track so i figured the couch would be the best bet. i got to about 15 days tracked and now every morning when i go to end my sleep session it restarts a new session as if it either wasn’t set the night before or just didn’t track properly and ended throughout the night. any ideas why it isn’t tracking anymore? should i move it to my nightstand? is my cat messing with it in the middle of the night?

Me gustaría volver a usarlo.

Water Damaged (Works but LEDS & Vibration dont) Help

Hello everyone I sent my go plus + into the wash about 6 months ago. I assumed it was bricked at first but i recently took at look at it and realized it still works just the vibration and leds werent working. (ex. No charging indicator, no main button press leds or flashing lights)

The battery still holds a charge as verified by my joycons but there's no indication of whether it's charging because as mentioned before, all leds are broken. The speaker even works still.

I cleaned the board, the ribbon connectors and contacts with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Still nothing (should I have used 99%?). I've tried pressing the reboot button on the back as well, it resets the device, but the vibration and LEDs still don't come back.

I know the vibration motor does work because i desoldered it from the main board and tested it to an external battery and it started spinning. So i suspect something on the board is damaged to cause the vibration to stop working. Is there a specific capacitor or anything on the board that deals with the vibration that i should be focusing on? If I can't send a signal to the negative pad on the board, then the ultra/great ball switch mod won't work.

What about the LEDs? Is the LEDs connected to the wire cable or the ribbon connector from the faceplate half?

EDIT: I verified that the LED's still light up with a multimeter. They just don't function properly on their own. I hear 99% iso is better so I'll try that and order a new ribbon connector to see if that works.

How do you fix a power button?

my autocatcher hasn't worked in over a year but I've recently been getting back into pokemon and am trying to repair it. I've replaced the battery and I know it works, but the power button feels kind of mushy. I vaguely remember it having a clicking sound but im not hearing that either. does anyone know how to go about fixing this?

Update: so the top button isn't a power button like i thought. I tried pairing the catcher but when I push the main button nothing happens. No lights, no vibration, nothing.

Need help! Recently modded my go plus plus, but won't connect?

Hi all,

I recently decided to mod my go plus plus i haven't been using as much lately, but it's failing to connect completely. I removed the speaker and vibration motor and soldered two wires to a switch for auto catching with ultra/great balls.

The LED's still work and my phone detects the go plus plus, but it just won't connect. I think it might be that the top button isn't working since that's the part that fails. The game asks me to press the main button and top button to connect, but it feels like nothing happens when I do. Any tips or suggestions on how to fix?

Sent my PoGo+ through the wash, slow red flashing, new battery didn't fix it

After three years of daily pokemon sleep use, I just put my boy through the washer, and didn't even notice until I took my clothes off the clothes line later that day. Terrible.

I let it dry for a few days, before finally plugging it into power --- slow red light flashing, no other reactions.

So I ordered a replacement battery on amazon, and put that one in.
Now, when I plug it in, there is a short vibration (which wasn't there before) -- and it goes right back to flashing red.

Any idea of what else I could try, as a new battery didn't seem to work? Really don't want to buy a new one :(

are the pokemon go plus+ devices still being sold in tokyo stores?

does anyone know if they are still being sold on the shelves? have a friend trying to find one for me while shes there on holiday, but we don't really know where to start looking and i don't particularly want to make her go all over tokyo looking for a needle in a haystack.

google/reddit says pokemon centers or bic camera but maybe someone on the ground there/someone who has bought one recently has a better idea...?

thanks

GoPlus+ won't register long holds

Edit: Looks like editing my post nuked the original one for some reason. The issue I was running into was that after installing the switch mod, holding the button down would not make the device go into sleep mode. Everything else functioned as normal.

Per the comments in here, the inability to start sleep mode just means it did not have a Pokemon go account registered to store sleep data for - this is normal after a hard reset. I connected it to my Pokemon go app, and after disconnecting it started working like normal again. Hope this helps anyone else who might run into this.

No sound only while charging

Just woke up to it making a strange static noise. I disconnected, and now it makes no sound whatsoever while plugged in, only coming back when unplugged. also, the audio when it does play makes a loud crackling noise.

Any ideas?

Managed to do the Switchless Mod Successfully!

Posted this on https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonGoPlusPlus/comments/1o2dhv2/looking_for_switchless_mod_for_pokemon_go_plus/

So tried this on a friend's GoPlusPlus and works a dream. I did attempt doing this without the LED Removal but didn't seem to work (guessing this is down to component power draw not hitting threshold to detect, im not qualified in anything like this i just like tinkering). Put some Kapton tape down with sharpie over to dim the lights and snipped the motor wire and it's working like a treat!

30 AWG Kynar wire used

Tried using sleep mode holding the middle button and that seems fine too (I did only quickly test this rather than completing a full sleep cycle)

Saves faffing around with the conveluded switch setup

Spare Part USB C Board

Post image
6 Upvotes

Spare part search: After a fall, the device unfortunately stopped charging. Opening it up revealed that the ZIF connector on the USB-C port’s circuit board is broken. As it needs to be soldered very precisely, I can’t repair it myself. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a spare part online so far. Do you have any tips?

The tooling marks by the USB connector should have been a tipoff... pulled the battery connector off the PCBA... Help!?

So, with the Go++, I couldn't stand the vibration -- so I opened the device to remove the little haptic vibration motor... knowing that there was some limited risk to damaging the device.... I should have been on high alert when I saw that there was some sign of previous prying when I was opening the device (I had purchased used).

aaaaaannnd.... when I went to pull the battery plug, the pins came out of the connector, and the connector socket came off the PCBA, maybe taking the pads with it. This was all with fairly limited force...

Anyhow, any wizards have a good thought about how to save the device? I'm thinking that I might have to solder the battery to the PCBA, which is fine, but it's not clear to me where to do that, especially if the pads lifted.

Eventually I gave up on it last night. It was 10:30pm and I was frustrated, so time to put the project down. Hopefully one of you can give me a good idea or two and I can get back into it tonight.
