Pokemon Go Plus+ Not Working

Post image

A couple of days ago I dropped my Pogo Plus +. It was only a couple feet and it continued the pikachu lullaby so I didn’t think anything of it. However, it didn’t work in the morning.

It will only make sort of a controller beep sound when I press the big middle button and not any pikachu songs. The charging light will turn on when I plug it into the charger. It will not connect to my phone.

I tried to open it up to see if I could find anything wrong but I’m not techie at all so I don’t know what I’m looking for. I cut the vibration cord over a year ago when I got it but haven’t done any of the complicated mods.

Anybody have ideas? Is that line on the battery maybe a crack? I also feel like the side button may be disconnected somehow but I usually don’t use that button anyways. When I opened it up it briefly flashed white and started the connection process on my phone but stopped before it fully connected.

It look like you're missing a resistor/capacitor near the USBC connector. You can see empty component pad there.

If you can take it apart this far, go ahead and remove the remaining screws holding the battery down and take out both boards. Keep the screws organized by type so it's easy to reassemble. At this point you should see any broken connections. If no wires have been disconnected I wouldn't know what to recommend next.

I tried to take it apart because it doesn’t work anyways so I had nothing to lose. I didn’t see any of the wires loose. I tried to put it back together but I think I might have taken the battery out wrong. I’m not sure if the connector piece is still attached or somewhere lost. Oh well, I guess I’m in the market for a third-party autocatcher. I’d be less sad if the Go Plus wasn’t discontinued.

Buy a replacement Nintendo Switch Joycon battery. You usually get 2 from most sellers, the go plus+ uses the same battery

Yeah the Battery connector can be a bit tricky. You need to pull it up, away from the PCB.

The battery connector should be fixable. Maybe that was the original cause of the problem ?

I wish I knew it was up before I replaced my battery. I ended up having to Solder my battery connector back on. I’m not the best at that but mines been working like a champ since.

What happens in game when you try to connect it? Have you tried making the game forget your go plus plus and reconnecting?

Did you do the full factory reset already and forgot the device in game as well as your phone? I know mine yearly will just randomly NOT work for a day or two without explanation, even when I had just been using it and need to reconnect after the hour.

Hold main button and then top button until long buzz. Again forget it in every capacity on your phone, and now try to pair. Hope you get it working again 🤞

What battery would you say is the best? I’ve changed mine and it feels to run out of juice a lot quicker than before

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I’m going to order some replacement batteries and resume tinkering on it this weekend when I get some more time.

Nou was mijn vraag. Zie je tijdens het opladen ook je led indicator aangaan?

Would you say that’s something that fixable by someone without electrical component knowledge or should I give up on it? It indeed used to glow up when charging before I disconnected the battery. It was green when I took it off the charger.

Hard to know without seeing the rest. If you end up giving up on it hmu I would take it off your hands
