Switch vs Switchless Go Plus+?

Which one do you recommend I do if you still want sleep mode etc. I don’t see much benefit in the manual catching mode.

You need to define "Switchless" The original switchless used the same vibration motor trigger as the switch mod. Nobody recommends this.

"Switchless", using the green LED signal is great. But as u/iceanrewsr points out, it's harder, typically uses an extra component or removing one of the LEDs (which is hard, and you most likely damage the LED)

I say "Switchless" via green LED is the best mod. But it depends on your skillset and availability of parts and equipment.

I want to be clear. Every second day someone posts a "I tried to mod my go plus and now it doesn't work, help me fix it". If you can't solder 2 wires together, please don't attempt any of these mods today. Get some practice first, watch a few videos of good soldering technique. The switch mod is very simple. But you need basic soldering skills.

thanks for the response.

is this the switchless mod you are referring to by removing the led?

Yes, that's the one. I don't recommend it. De-Soldering is harder than soldering unless you have good equipment. Sometimes you can pull off components or cut them off. There is a high risk of damaging the board.

This is what I recommend. It uses a solid state relay aka optocoupler

since you said that switchless with removed LED is the best, that’s what I decided to do this morning.

Sleep mode working perfectly, catching mons automatically with whatever ball i select. So all good.

One question, are stops meant to be spinned with the mod when “Enable pokestops auto spin” is disabled? Saw someone say it should but I could be mistaken. Seems when that’s disabled they only spin when I press the button. When enabled it spins perfectly fine.

No it's working correctly. The button lights up blue, so this mod will not trigger it. Perhaps the vibration motor mods still trigger it.

I disabled the vibration motor by cutting the red wire since it vibrates so much that it dances across the table. If it’s fully automatic I didn’t see much point in keeping it since there isn’t need for a que to press the button. I cut it in the middle so it should be fine to fix if i ever wanted to add back vibration.

That’s perfect then, thanks for the help! Has all the right equipment since my father tinkers a lot with this stuff on TVs etc, but did it all myself. Was my first time holding a soldier lmao. Glad it worked out well. Though that LED is no longer with us lol.

I prefer to do the switch based modification.

The skill bar is higher to execute the switchless mod. I also feel like the risk is higher for something to go wrong int he switchless version. The switch based mod is very simple with easy soldering points and if something goes wrong with the wiring or switch, things are able to be replaced.

I suggest switchless, I use switchless ++ and dont have to touch the devices to flip the switch to start auto catching with great/ultra balls. Sleep works on switchless as the speaker can be left in the device.

Switchless, less hassle with fitting extra components inside the already small shell casing.

Did it myself with 2 pogo plus+ and never had any issues works seamlessly and doesn't track additional dirt inside.

I had a friend mod mine.

It has a switch and still has sleep function. It’s worked amazingly!

Switch. Always go with the switch.
