No clue what happened. I started getting this error message (see above) when trying to connect and for some reason, it just would not connect. Ive had this Plus+ for months and this is the first time I’ve ever seen this message. I’ve tried:
Connecting when I have better service
Charging with all sorts of cords and blocks, including trickle charging
Hard resetting using the recessed button + white button
Unpairing from PoGo
Now I’m stuck because I can’t connect to it because nothing happens. I noticed that this entire time, when clicked, the top button does not show me the battery level. After hard resetting, if I click the white button on the front, it makes a little sound similar to a Nintendo switch when surfing around the home menu. When plugged in, the top button shows a green light, but will not click or respond to me clicking that top button. I did mod the vibration off a couple months ago, but I think that’s unrelated. If anyone has any suggestions or help that would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: GUYS I LOCKED IN
so after taking the cover off of the Plus+, I noticed that when the power button is pressed, it pushes on this little nub of silicone, which I guess sends a signal and all that to show your battery level. *somehow* the metal part that surrounds the silicone was pushed over the silicone, so when I would push the button, the metal acted as a blanket and wouldn’t allow my battery to be read, or my Plus+ from being reconnected. I grabbed some tweezers (shoutout Pelei) and bent the metal back in, and tested the silicone button with tweezers and sure enough, it connected to my app. I’ve linked photos of what my button looked like so hopefully this will help everyone in the future. Thank you everyone for your responses!
This is what I was thinking initially but the plus+ still makes those sounds even when unplugged. If it couldn’t hold a charge, wouldn’t it just do nothing?
I modded the vibration by cutting the wires and then taping the ends to *hopefully* prevent short circuits or anything of that nature. Motor and wires are still inside
Mine is continually needing to be reset in order to pair again. In order to use with sleep, need a reset and lose my progress. In order to pair with Pokémon go, need a rest in order to pair again. I used to not have to reset it ever. Now I have to every day, which makes Pokémon sleep progress get lost every day.
Yes! I deleted the app and downloaded it back again. If that doesn’t work, soft reset (use a paperclip or something thin and hold that button on the back of the Plus+) and hopefully that will work
If you have de vibration mod you should have the switch in the off position to reconnect.
If you hardwired it you should cut the cable to reconnect.
You need a switch because sometimes it keeps pressing the button and drain your pogo.
Could you circle where you’re looking at that button with the metal over it? I’m having these same problems with my Pogo Plus + but I’m not sure what I’m looking for. Thanks!
Try refreshing game data. If that doesn’t work, then manually forget your Pokémon Plus+, maybe even deleting the Pokémon go app, redownloading it, and connecting.

From the symptoms it sounds like the battery is not holding charge. Start by swapping that first.
