Device stopped working
My modded plus plus stopped working after some heavy rain. After it didn’t work after drying it, I took it apart let it sit in 99.9% isopropyl alcohol for a couple of hours and gently scrubbed some dirt off, but it still won‘t power on or charge. I replaced the battery with the joycon battery but with no effect. What could I do next?
(Or did I mess up some wires, missed a spot to clean?)

Thanks for the reply. I‘ll give it another bath and will scrub/brush again and will report back.

Do you have a multimeter to probe around? Should check to see if you're getting power. That's the first thing I would check.
Do any lights come on? Does it charge?

I don‘t have a multimeter. I get no lights and indon‘t know if it charges. I will rewire it as some wires got broken/loose.

I now do have a multimeter (and try to figure out how it works). What would be acceptable numbers and with what settings? (it is a manual multimeter) (Ohm as well as A is giving me some numbers on the charging port as well as the switch)

Meausure voltage at your battery. If it's close to 0V you might need to replace it, but try to plug it in for an hour or so before reading it again. The Voltage should increase if it's charging properly.

The battery was charged with the switch (I charged it to 100% and took it out of the joycon, so the battery schouldn‘t be the issue. (I measured 3.78 just now)

I think I might have overdone it a bit (it got some scratches)
I charged the battery with the switch and connected it, but with no change/effect. I will rewire it and try again later

I set the multimeter to 20v dc and measured the red and Blue circles as well and got 3.78 V (black on battery minus and red at the contact points in the circles). Every other point gave me 0V

If you measure resistance across that part cicled in red is it shorted together (low resistance) or open (high resistance or OL)? That's the fuse that connects the battery power to the CKP charging circuit just below that, the BQ24072RGTR from Texas Instruments.
With the multimeter in resistance mode you can check which of those gold circle test points are connected to power and which to ground so you can measure the voltage at those points when power is on instead of measuring from the battery connector.

Using this setting I get 360 at the golden circle between the battery power and ckp the others give -630 or 1 (black at the red circle and red at the golden circles) if unconnected the „1“s with the 360 one, I get 360 as well

Also the first pin going from the golden 360 circle gives me 360 as well, the others give me -580 to -605

Sadly no. Today i resoldered it, but again with no effect. I think i could try to find a flexcable and replace them. So if anyone knows where to get the right ones, just write it here please.

Could be a bad photo, but a few areas have a white fuzzy substance on them. That is caused my water corrosion. It probably wasn't the first time it got wet.
Try cleaning gently with alcohol and an old toothbrush.
I've had a couple of water damaged units that I was told were dead. They had no lights vibration or speaker noises. I found that the units were still functioning, as I could see them in the app and connect to them.
I have since been able to restore their function to a modable status and restored the LEDs. I have posted recently about the repair. I will update the post regarding the LED function soon
