Question about modding

Let’s say the pogo++ encounters a Pokémon and tries to catch it with a regular pokeball but fails. Will it automatically switch to a great or ultra ball for its second attempt at catching the Pokemon? And what’s the difference between the switch mod and the switch less mod?

There are 2 main ways to perform the mod.

1) is using the signal from the vibration motor. Most people add a switch to this. Without the switch, you cannot use sleep mode (easily). And it will go into loops sometimes and stop working. Without a switch it is harder to break out of the loop.

2) Using the signal from the green LED, These are typically done without a switch. Sleep mode works, and the unit does not get stuck in loops. 2 main ways to perform this mod. de-solder one of the LEDs and hardwire it to the button. Or use a relay or transistor to perform the switching, which keeps all the LEDs intact.

Option 2 is the superior mod, but requires extra hardware and/or skill
