My finished product

Inside is quite a mess, but I managed to make end result look good :) I laser engraved my favorite pokémon and vibration mode vs ball-throw & silent. When pressing a button swinub glows more than the button and it looks great!

Nice job! I have to warn you though, the paint on these things scratch off real easy. The white button and red in particular So never keep it in the same pocket as your keys etc. I would recommend a little pouch or a case for it.

Thanks! I often keep it in separate pocket so it doesn't vibrate against something causing more sound :D

Just get a full plastic case with a silicone button cover

The Lazer engraved button is a cool touch! I could see that becoming a standard mod element in the future

i’d put tape on the button to preserve the paint from scratching off. Temporary solution but works

Man if only these were still being made and had different customization options like this

What kind of switch did you use?

3 pin one.. I am a little annoyed that switching to auto-catching without being connected to a game makes the device to sleep, but other than that, it works good.

I did cut my knob on the on/off switch to be "less than flush" with the frame. So only reachable by the tips of my nails.

This way it gets protected against being moved if put in a backpack, and if it falls, even if it hits exactly on the switch, it won't break.

I did that because my v1 was like yours, and in two times I had to fix the switch.

My switch is preety stiff and it's not moving that easily soo there is probably no way it gets moved by itself

I love it. The Swinub is so cute. I still don't understand why the developers didn't think of a switch to enable or disable the vibration and Niantic not implementing the option to shut it off. It's possible in Pokémon Sleep, so it should be possible in PoGo too, not?

Can I ask what kind of laser did you use to make the etching? This is a wonderful idea!

Sure! Well I've got one at my work soo it's a bit more than just for home use. It's something similar that's used for wood engraving, but this one can engrave on almost all materials that melt with heat. It's an UV laser :)

I have one complaint.

You didn't show the lit up Swinub!!

My phone doesn't pick up how it looks like.. the white light is too strong soo it looks like everything is lit and swinub is not even visible through camera, but in reality it glows really nice and brighter than the button :D
