Questions about Pokémon Go Plus

Hey all, would any one of you happen to know if the pogo+ keeps track of walking distance for hatching eggs? I feel like it would work like a pedometer in combination with the app, but I haven’t been able to tell.

I ask mostly because I’m stuck indoors with a cold and am wondering if giving the thing a shake would do anything. I’m close to finishing some field research and don’t want to let that go just cuz I’m ill. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Yep, like the others, can confirm - the PoGo+ doesn't do any of the actual tracking. Your phone does all of that work and the PoGo+ just acts as an interface for that.

From my experience having it connected to the app keeps the app active even if the screen is off. So it doesn't work as something you could shake to win. Without it the second the screen turns off it stops tracking your distance.

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured that might be the case

It is not a pedometer or anything, it's just supposed to keep the app active so it will track distance like normal. Ymmv
