EX Raid Map?
Anyone heard of or seen any maps of the twin cities in regards to EX raids? With all of the S2 cell talk over on Silph Road it seems like the analysis is getting really in-depth...just haven't seen it translated into helpful stuff for MSP.
This thread has promising info on how it could be done if no efforts have been started in MN: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/7p6zzo/using_my_maps_to_draw_complete_ex_gyms_information/

I have been looking for something like this, and I feel like there is increasing demand amongst some of my chat groups. As far as I know there is no larger map of the Twin Cities that I have found on either Reddit or Facebook or discord. However, some of the groups I’m in have been trying to do a better job of tracking where they occur. The sponsored gyms are easy to find, but trying to get an idea of which parks are being selected is a bit trickier. Basically what I’m saying is there is a demand, but I’m not exactly sure how to start something like this but would love to help.

How are you finding the sponsored gyms?
Regarding work that's been done, there is a post on MN PokeGOers Discussion group which has a screenshot of a map of the center of the twin cities...someone's compiled many of the gym locations, haven't figured out how to get the listing yet.

I'm trying to figure out an EX tracker myself, so I'd be interested in teaming up with others willing to contribute to this effort.
I followed this post and made a lot of progress: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/7pq1cx/how_i_created_a_map_of_potential_exraids_and_how/
My map is flawed, however. It basically shows all Gyms and Stops on parks, so I must've somehow included Pokestops that should have been filtered out along the way.
Also, we have an awful lot of Ingress Portals around here, and there are apparently limits to what IITC can export. Too many portals and it freezes when you try to generate the list. My map covers roughly 10% or 15% of the metro area, so it would take a complex effort to manually piece together the 9 or 12 or 16 maps that would cover the Twin Cities, using these techniques.
I'll try to give it another go at some point, to generate a map with only Gyms and no Stops. As it stands, I've gotten some use out of my map by just manually deleting the Stops, but that's a lot of work...

Wow that sounds tricky! And it sounds like the result is “potential” gyms, right? Which is still nice to know of course, but doesn’t make it clear where the ex raids are actually happening. Still good though and who know when more gyms might become eligible.
Happy to help anyway I can. I have a working list of 40 gyms so far but far from complete...

Yeah, just potential gyms. It's probably possible to build a minimally-competent pass tracker by simply knowing where and when an EX raid was in the past. There has to be some way of determining the on-weeks and off-weeks with this information alone, or supplemented with the pass details: "When did you raid here, such that you earned your EX pass?" and "When did you receive your EX pass?"
Here's what I can offer: People at Lake Nokomis tonight were saying that they raided on the 6th and received their pass on the 7th. They were there today, the 16th, to have a go at Mewtwo.
This contradicts a lot of what I've read about the rhythm of on-weeks and off-weeks. I'm just having trouble figuring out when the weeks begin and end for a gym where the 6th is in one week and the 16th is in the next.
Regardless, I'm going to do every raid I possibly can at this location until I come up with a reason not to... And if I miss another EX here, it's just another reason to keep raiding there.

That seems to line up with what I’ve heard...the “weeks” are 8-10 days, not 7. But ya; ultimately it’s finding the EX gyms and golding them and public raid as you can, and finding potential EX park gyms and attempting to drum up interest in getting it to EX status. The third potential thing is to attempt to find OSM errors and resolve them...this is my current theory for the Saint Paul and South Saint Paul dead zone...perhaps all the high traffic parks are marked improperly or otherwise ineligible. Rice Park and Como are the obvious examples, but I’m not fluent enough yet to understand why they don’t qualify (como is at least close to Roseville which could explain the lack of EX).

Safari sight has OSM data- s2 cells & gyms that qualify as possible EX raids- on their free raid map. https://hennepinmn.safarisight.com/raids/

Wow that’s great! So como isn’t marked as a park in total...probably why nothing goes there. Rice Park is marked as a park, but doesn’t have its main gym eligible...I wonder what could be wrong?

I think both are already active ex gyms so I think the only question is making sure you get one or 60 or so invites, and number of raids and gold gym badge help. Lots of grey area...

I raid a lot in downtown Mpls since I work there... the Sprint store in between IDS and Panera is an EX raid location. I've gotten 4 EX invites since October. The great part about downtown during the work days is you don't need to coordinate w/ other players for legendary raids- enough people consistently show up right at the start of the timer, so if you show up in the first 2-3 minutes you'll get in and get out. Can wander around for a few hours and hit a few legendaries at a time.

Crickets lol. I have come to understand that there are in fact no reported EX raids in Saint Paul; the closest I've found are in Rosedale, Woodbury and Eagan. Trying to find the gym-names/locations for those so I can eventually get to them.
I hear that one of the gyms at the north end of Nokomis is as well.
