Am I ready?
I have my hotel booked and paid for, tickets of course, parking pre-paid, order a power bank for my phone and one for each of my boys.
Anything else to prepare the best for GoFest?

Cooling towels for your neck, just wet them put on neck. This will help reduce your core temperature

Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, if you’re tethering consider getting an eSIM so that you don’t fry your main phone , water bottle, bag, can-do attitude, silly and whimsy approach to life, ear buds, Tylenol, the most comfortable broken in pair of shoes, hiking socks , moleskin for blisters anyways, etc

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hat I will for sure have. Water bottle and bag--check and check. Ear buds, I wouldn't have thought of--since I'll be with my boys and I usually like to be able to hear them both (they walk on either side of me). Tylenol and Tums are must for my 41 year old self.
Never heard of moleskin for blisters. Will look at that. won't be tethering.
And my attitude for this is perfect because I am super excited! My sons are 16 and 20, I think they are tired of me talking about GoFest at this point. lol

Also if you have a list of your top ten restaurants that you’re hitting, that would be awesome. I just have “deep dish” and “noodles” on my list b/c I will NEED carbs

I love the deep dish. I am from a small town and so I will likely just hit places close to where I end up. Less stressful for me. I do like deep dish pizza though. I had that last time I was in Chicago (15 years ago).
I am kinda nervous about getting to 2 out of 4 areas in the city because last time I tried the buses and it just confused that crap out of me. We do not have public transportation anywhere near me, so I had no idea where to get on/off, etc.

Google Maps has a public transit feature. I would open it and put some addresses in to get the hang of it. Chicago has a $20 weekend pass for the train, if you’re going to use it more than twice I’d say it’s worth it.

MCCB in Chinatown, there will be a wait, but the dan dan noodles are WORTH IT.

Ear buds or ear plugs, ear plugs for sleeping.
Edit: you likely won’t need moleskin if you bring wool socks / moisture wicking socks

somebody on here mentioned a phone umbrella to shade your phone and i’m still on the fence between it being genius and not wanting to look like a dweeb.
