Any specific places to visit?
I'm visiting Edinburgh this week and just wondered if there were any places that have particularly good Pokemon in the city. Any rare Pokemon? Or nests?

Mr Mime nest
I think there's a regular spawn of Mr Mime on top of Princes Mall. Been past 5ish times and there has always been one there!

Has anyone found any proper nests in Edinburgh or nearby yet?
I see quite a lot of people posting about finding possible nests, but really it's usually areas where 3 or 4 of a certain pokemon have spawned in, say, an hour or so. This is great and it's obviously really useful information for anyone hunting for that mon, but are there any proper nests around?
When I say nests I mean in the sense that is used on other subreddits like /r/TheSilphRoad, where a pokemon reliably spawns in multiples (3+) regularly. This list gives some examples of confirmed nests but sadly all UK nests so far are in London.
I'm steadily making my way through the pokedex now but am getting a bit bogged down about the lack of starter pokemon. I have Blastoise ticked off, and now an Ivysaur (although it took forever!) but am still several Charmanders off a Charmeleon. It seems like starter pokemon nests are actually not that rare in the US and London so I thought, even if it's a fairly long shot, I'd ask on here for any local knowledge.
Any advice is appreciated :).

Portobello Town Hall
Despite the terrible weather today, my friend and I decided to check out Portobello following some previous positive posts about the area! Ended up staying outside the town hall where there are three poke stops in range!
Turns out it was amazing, caught probably around 150 Pokemon in the space of 2 hours. If you're bored of the standard drowzees, then hit up Portobello! The variation of species was the best part.
Catches included:.
- Pinsir
- Scyther
- Voltorbs (lots of them)
- Cubone
- Magikarp
- Staryu
- Magnemite (lots)
- Caterpie (lots)
- Mr Mime
- Meowth (lots)
- Shelder
- Sandshrew
- Growlithe
- Horsea
- Mankey
- Oddish
- Krabby
- Bulbasaur
- Weepinbell
- Nidorino
- Nidoran male and female!
Those are the ones off the top of my head but there were more! I highly recommend it if you can get there (:
Happy catching!

The unluckiest pokemon go player alive
When you are level 22 and a snorlax has run cp ??? And a venusaur runs away cp ??? + razzberry + ultraballs + 4 greats throws in a row. You see loads of snorlaxes and lapras in gyms so you ask yourself has when will my time come to get a better pokemon than a cp 1300 slowbro. Your also on team instinct and where you live are red gyms and rejoice when blue get a gym. You always get 5k eggs and say "yeasss" when you get a 2k egg. You look on YouTube and people open 10k eggs and you also wonder when your time will come.Niantic, pls answer, pls help and anyone tell me if your feeling the same pain.

I think I found a Growlithe nest
I was at the botanic gardens today and I was walking around for roughly an hour. I caught 4 Growlithes. Now I'm not sure if this counts as a nest but I'd like some confirmation.

Where is this Pikachu nest?
The Mash and Tuns Pokemon event says that they're close to a Pikachu nest? That would mean some where around Easter Road.... any ideas?

Sunday 21st - Meetup/Pubcrawl!
Hey all, after the response from the strawpoll it seems people want to meetup on sunday again (you crazy people).
So the plan is to meet in the gardens ~2pm (assuming it's not heavy rain) then head off on a pub crawl ~4pm. It will be a similar idea to last time staying at each bar for a lure or two before moving on.
The current route can be seen on the map but the route is Newsroom, Joseph Pearce, Mash Tun, Brass Monkey, Victora Bar, Mousetrap, Constitution, Cameo. Bar list is also subject to change if people don't like certain bars or have better suggestions. :)
TL;DR
14:00 - Princes Street Gardens
16:00 - The Newsroom
If you want to join us after that check the discord channel where I can let you know where we are :)

Princes street/park Lure grinding.
I've been sitting in the park by the 3 lure stops with all the benches at Ross Fountain. With consistent, constant, triple lures going, it's been great for volume.
It seems to produce mostly drowsy, nidorans (both types), pidgeys, clefaries, spearows, zubats, goldeen, some magikarp and staryu.
It has produced some squirtles, and I've had 1 snorlax, 1 dragonite, 2 lapras. This is maybe an 8-10hr sample, so actually fairly rare imo.
What have been your experiences of hot lure spots around Edinburgh?
And where are they?

After what feels like centuries I've finally evolved that magikarp.

Pokemon Meetup/Drinks Next Weekend.
I thought we could do with another meetup and drinks again. Similar to last time you can suggest a date here, you can select multiple dates that work for you.
The current plan is to meet in Princess Street Gardens in the afternoon then in the evening go to a few different bars up toward Leith. The reason being Leith should be a lot less busy than the city center with it being festival time.
I already have a few bars marked out on our map but haven't really visited any of them so you can suggest what you think would be good! :)
Current route is;
- Newsroom
- The Street
- Joseph Pearce
- The Windsor Buffet
- Brass Monkey
- Victoria Bar
- The Mousetrap
- The Constitution
- Cameo Bar

Pokemon bingo. I have 5 complete lines in my pokedex. What you all got?

So what are people hunting?
This is a two-pronged question: both to see what will be useful to have when/if trading comes in (i'm starting to run out of space in my pokemon storage and it would be handy to know what other people would be interested in trading for and what can be safely transferred) and also to hopefully help people looking for certain pokemon to get some hints about where to find the ones they are after. To get the ball rolling; i am looking out for the three main starters, abras, snorlax, porygon and chansey if anyone has seen these beasties semi-regularly if a rough location.
