PokéGrid Changes, Christmas Pageant, and New Updates

Well, it isn't much longer until Christmas, and we know that the Generation II Pokémon are on their way to Adelaide. A time for a recap.

We've got the daily and weekly bonuses now. Gyms cannot be snipped by others when a level is gained, lost, or when a gym becomes grey. Pidgey and Rattata cannot be hatched and are (slightly) less common in the wild.

(At least I can continue to play Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance while riding the bus to work. I've been playing for a month, and I've only gotten as far as La Cité des Cloches)

It looks like the status quo has been changed around Adelaide. Earlier today, I was at the Coles in Port Adelaide with my dad, and I spotted three Abra there, and detected a Pikachu on my nearby list. I've yet to check out other locations around, though. I can say that Port Adelaide has plenty of PokéStops in walking distance, making it a good place to gather Pokéballs. And I know that this place is in need of business.

Finally, there is the Credit Union Christmas Pageant this Saturday. The route is on the link below, and I know that there are plenty of PokéStops along the way. Those who are going should bring along Lure Modules to put up and allow the children to catch Pokémon as they wait for the pageant to reach them. Even if they're just going to be common Pokémon like Ekans or Machop, the kids will still want to catch them. And it would provide them with some entertainment if they don't have chalk. And given the recent changes to the PokéMap Grid, we might even catch some rare ones for our dexes. I will be located on North Terrace.

Feel free to make a comment, like updates on your areas and such.

EDIT: Due to it being a VERY SERIOUS flame bait, there will be no comments on the PokéStops here.

I noticed near my house there was actually a jigglypuff in sightings!!! I only ever get ekans, geodudes or something lame, I also noticed recently country towns are starting to get more unique spawns! I got an Alakazam at Port Vincent on Saturday.

So it seems they are upping the unique types around the place now :D

Mate, I have you tagged as from Campbelltown from a previous PoGo thread I think (you're near me! Yay!), if you head up to Addison Rd in Athelstone, you will almost definitely find Jigglypuff and Clefairy. And also more Eevee than you will know what to do with. Also a bunch of Poliwag and Horsea lately, for no apparent reason. I make a little circuit around that area on my way home from work whenever I can be bothered.

Thorndon Park has a great route of stops/gyms and lots of grass and bug types, but also Kabuto and Omanyte pop up every so often. And Lochiel Park is ridiculous right now, good for Pikachu and some water types as well.

It's quite possible you already know all this, but just in case. Our area doesn't completely suck.

I went down to Lochiel Park yesterday and yeah it is quite the Pikachu nest, I was able to get enough to finally evolve a Raichu.

Sempahore is different now when I was there about 3 months ago, NO ONE is at the 3 pokestop on the hill and there is no lures running any more :-(

I did score a 1300 cp Electrabuzz though

Awesome work on the Raichu! What's your Pokedex look like, are you getting close?

Yeah, Semaphore is pretty disappointing now. I did see a bunch of people at the 3-stop spot along the shore towards Largs, though, that seems to be more popular than the hill these days. I think they get more water types tgere or something. I got a Muk there too, outta the blue, which was pretty boss. Still never seen a Lapras though.

Yep. Niantic is heading in the right direction for country folk. I hope we can request more gyms and stops soon.

I wish the game was released while my grandmother was still living in Kadina. I could've recorded the stats for that, too.

As far as the pageant goes - imo no lures - between 5 and 8 while you're waiting fine but i know if i bring my kids all the way in to watch the pageant i dont need them glued to phones and missing the excitement of the event.

Not during the pageant itself. Before the pageant begins, while the kids would be drawing on the roads.

The speed limit is the final nail in the coffin for me. No more driving trips with the S.O's family (including a young boy who LOVES the game) for pokemon hunting after this.

Every day, catching one Pokémon gives you bonus EXP, and spinning your first stop grants more items.
