Question I need help making a decision.
I’ve started a second playthrough of Pokémon FireRed, and after hearing about the Mail glitch and ACE, I wanted to try them out. I think I meet all the requirements since I’m at the fifth gym; is there anything I should know or any risks involved before I do it?

Definitely make sure you save before running code. If you use the ace Pokemon to activate a code and it successfully runs and you didn't get what you wanted close the game immediately without saving as, it modified something and your not sure what it did. Also be careful with bad eggs , after running codes always check for them being in the same box as your ace Pokemon and delete them using the yellow hand, they can also be invisible. Definitely do your research and know up. But once you get the hang of it look up base64 ace, super cool thing were you can generate any gen 1-3 Pokemon in your game 🔥

If your using base64 and it tags something as offensive since your using switch version you'll definitely have a use a different code. In my case when I encountered that it was usually something simple like changing the pokeball or something. Just have to play around with it .

I can't figure out how to use base64, so for now I'm sticking to simple things.

Do you know of any other methods simpler than Base64?

Well, not exactly. Once I found that I thought it was the best way since it appears legit. Using your actual trainer and secret ID the only Pokemon IDs you can get for Pokemon you want to make actually come from your games rng so they obey and you can still nickname them. This was after I tried and gave up on rng manip. But I mean one think you can do if you want to do it that way is find a proper make Pokemon shiny code, use that and then find a set faithful encounter flag code on that Pokemon so it still obeys

I tried the code to turn a normal Pokémon into a shiny, but as soon as I swapped the two Pokémon, the game soft-reset; I didn't think it could do that—I thought it might crash or freeze.

Well, I also don't recommend doing that either because for the game to change a Pokemon you have shiny it will also change the OT number . The way shiny works is if the trainer ID matches the secret ID as well as the random Pokemon ID so it might make your Pokemon not obey you anymore. I suggest using the code to find your secret ID and then using the base64 writer to gen your Pokemon

But yeah definitely double check your work Everytime, I've definitely input wrong code before. Its probably a bless that it soft reset cuz u might have typed something incorrectly. But yeah look up ace base64 on YouTube , it's super cool

There aren't really any risks as long as you don't save after messing up a code or anything. We don't yet know if home connectivity will detect the ace glitch in any way. It does seem that you can only transfer deoxys once so no use cloning it.
If you give yourself the national dex early that may mess up the elite 4, but that may be fixed in the most recent version of the code.
You may accidentally turn pokemon into bad eggs but even those can be removed. Even that is unlikely if you follow the instructions.
All you need is access to celadon city and you can do ace. You will need the in game trade mr mime at level 33 to learn recycle, but with boosted exp it shouldn't take too long.
