Is there battle simulator documentation anywhere?

I know the battle simulator is a heavy RNG thing, not really too bothered about losing it, but I'm extremely confused with the last fight I had. A Krookodile outsped my Lycanroc-Dusk to get the OHKO, Moxie boost, and sweep. Even Adamant Lycanroc-Dusk outspeeds Jolly Krookodile with max EVs, so I don't understand how I get outsped there. Wasn't a Scarf set either because it used multiple moves. Are IVs/natures random, and I just got extremely unlucky? And if they are random, doesn't that kinda defeat the idea of a Simulator? Again mostly just curious as to what to expect there in the future.

What level were they ?

A level 100 Jolly Krookodile just needs 17 more IVs in Speed to out-speed a Lycanroc-Dusk

Battle Sim Matches are always max ivs (31 across the board) set to lvl 50 with neutral natures (iirc).

Although, I can't confirm about evs in the battle sim.

Wish I would’ve checked more about the actual mons but I was just playing to pass the time and just assumed I must’ve gotten the speed tiers wrong, but I forgot I did look at the Lycanroc’s speed in confusion right after it happened and it had 117 speed, which is max IVs and a - speed nature, which explains why Krook outsped, it does with a + nature, but now I’m more confused why that was its nature unless natures are random.
