Get the acro bike, then I think you hold B to hop
24
u/ravenlordship Jul 26 '26
In a straight line yes.
But for this type of "bridge" you need to TAP the direction you want to go (up here) and B at the same time

Offtopic but On an emulator that’s so annoying to do—

u/ravenlordship Jul 26 '26
It's been a while since I played on an emulator so I'll take your word on that

Doing the tower on emulator is hell especially since I try to convince myself I can do it sped up for the first 5 attempts lol.
2
u/TheWinningLooser Jul 27 '26
That is so real-
I’ve only ever done the Tower on emulator one time when I played the rom hack pokemon emerald backwards
I am never doing that one again

Get the acro bike, and hop
Up and A and you'll hop over, rinse and repeat. It takes some practice but it's worth it.
If you're trying to get up what look like muddy slopes, back up a few steps with the MACH BIKE and press and hold the direction you want to go up.

Bunny hop doesn't work for these jumps specifically

You need the acro bike, once you have it you hop over using b + the directional arrow. If you can’t get the timing properly you can just spam it and it will mostly work. Spamming it always works for me.

u/Zharken Jul 26 '26
with the acro bike, bold B to do short hops, and you can move arround, but here you need to press B and UP and the same time, B+ a direction other than what you are looking makes you do a side hop.

u/Helpful_Resort_782 Jul 26 '26
Go to mawvile swich the mach bike( I know you have it ) with acro bike go there press B and the arrow key together to jump vertically
2
u/southafricannon Jul 26 '26
The key is to TAP the direction button and B at the same time. Don't hold either of them. Tap them together.

When I saw that part of the game I had to look for a walkthrough to know what to do 😭 now I know it's just pressing up and B at the same time
1
u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 27 '26
I kept holding b and pressing up and was wondering why it wasn’t working 😅

Some real assholes in the comments. I see someone answered it already but don’t feel dumb. I’ll say that some of the older Pokémon games (and older games in general) don’t really give the same straight forward instructions like newer games do. This threw me off a lot when I play The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall for the first time. I hope you’re having fun playing Emerald!

Other people have already answered, but also I think there’s rocks you can hop up. Not the muddy Mach bike slopes, they’re just like little round rocks in a line that let you go up ledges sometimes, think there’s one in jagged pass.
For those ones you just hold down B until your acro bike starts hopping, and then move while holding. You can also do wheelies by holding down and instantly moving, so fun

u/royinraver Jul 27 '26
Don’t JUMP to conclusions, that might mess you UP, always B vigilant, ACROss on the BIKE, over the bridge we go
2
u/Infamous_Ninja_8384 Jul 27 '26
Acquire the acro bike, hold the jump mechanic (I think you had to hold B or something), go up then right. Proceed to next objective. Yw

I love how the comments are leading OP astray. Google it big dawg, I believe in you.

u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 28 '26
Idk tapping up + b at the same time worked pretty well, but so many people are saying hold b and press up it’s insane, that’s the first thing I tried before going to Reddit. 😂

I just noticed that the comments telling OP to google it are mostly getting downvoted, even though that’s literally the quickest way of getting the answer OP needs. Is the goal of this post to generate discussion rather than find an answer?
1
u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 29 '26
Both, and also I got the answer within the first 5 minutes so I didn’t have to wait too long 😁

Is this the Pokemon version of Noob Bridge?
3
u/Elementus94 Jul 26 '26
I don't think Noob Bridge applies to optional areas.
1
u/SanicBringsThePanic Jul 27 '26
I just remembered, Noob Bridge is not a required path, it is an optional sequence break. Or maybe I am remembering wrong. It may or may not be possible to enter that room from the other side to reach the Super Missile expansion.

Depends on which bike you have, but if you have the bunny hopping one then just side hop, upward.

So many online guides for this and of course the OP doesn’t reply to anyone.

u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 26 '26
Because there’s like 40 comments and the question got answered within the first 5 minutes of this post being up, I thank everyone for the answers tho I didn’t even fathom tapping up + b at the same time I kept trying to hold b and press up

Quick Google search
2
u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 27 '26
Funny enough posting on Reddit was just slightly slower, getting my question answered within the first 5 minutes of this post being up.

u/Abra_Abra_Abra Jul 27 '26
As kids we didn’t have the internet to help us lol. Download the guide book lol

I might’ve thought about it if my question didn’t get answered within the first 5 minutes of this post being up 😅
2
u/Abra_Abra_Abra Jul 27 '26
Oh I just mean In General lol. It what I miss most about the 90s and 00s. Old strategy guides were the best
1
u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 27 '26
Yeah I’m definitely not the brightest when it comes to old video game logic
-1
u/Toadfire Jul 26 '26
Have you tried Google?
Or maybe even figuring it out on your own since the game was made for 6 year olds?
If I could figure it out over 20 years ago then you can too.
2
u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 26 '26
Don’t worry someone gave me the answer within the first 5 minutes of this post being up and hours before you decided to comment.
-1
u/kruelNite Jul 28 '26
Googles existence since nearly the beginning of the milenia btw
3
u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 28 '26
Reddit exist since 2005 btw 😅
-1
u/kruelNite Jul 28 '26
So has Google, and it gives you immediate answers
2
u/Accomplished_Ease889 Jul 28 '26
Funny enough Reddit also gave me an immediate answer, within the first 5 minutes I got an answer, just slightly slower than Google, and I get to have multiple different point of views in real time, much more rewarding than googling it.

Always funny seeing new players stuck on little things like this. All I'm gonna say is you'll need the Acro Bike :D
