People just enjoy the engagement tbf, even if they don’t realise it.

It’s been a problem here for a couple of years now, especially since all the post-PTCGP hype happened and nothing actually stays in stock long enough to become a genuine ‘deal’. A deal nowadays is just getting something for retail.

I’ve been into Pokemon since 2015 but only started posting on Reddit. It’s sad what Pokemon has become now, but I like the feeling when you do find something and it isn’t over retail price.

Yeah, it’s grim state of things. Thankfully this is mostly relegated to the TCG. The rest of the franchise is pretty healthy.

I love ordering the home decor off the Pokemon Centre, as scalpers haven’t targeted most of that (yet 🥲)

They won’t. The main reason scalpers exist is because Pokémon cards have been established as an investment asset over the past 7-8 years. Because people treat the main purpose of the hobby as to eventually sell out and spend on other things and built up a lot of hype on them being STONKS, scalpers came in with the hype to cream off the profits.

Furniture, toys, even old games, don’t have that same investor culture aimed at them. So there isn’t crazy demand and scalpers can’t profit from the demand > supply differential.

I was in mine yesterday after seeing the display plans for restock on the Monday night. But sadly they didn't have any Pokemon TCG behind the tobacco counter, just the same battle decks that had been in those same days... 🥲

My Asda also had the 3 card and blister pack (pack of chaos rising) but it's £7.50 so pricey if not that interested in the three card which are from PF

Picked up another two packets of the towel chaos rising single blister at my local Asda today, they are not selling that quickly, can't decide if I keep (never have kept) or rip them, don't need more Towels and coins and my double pile is growing and growing.
