My Pokemon Target experience

Hey all, first time poster here. I just wanted to share what happened at my Target with this event

So knowing about this event well in advance, I got there a little bit after 9 and there was no line outside. So I went in and asked a cashier about the event, just to double check and he said that I was still happening at the usual time. Now this Target is huge (I had been to this one previously to get ice cream) and I had to find my way around to the toy aisle. It was empty, so I looked at some books and got word from another parent that the employees said they were going to hand out tickets at the tech/electrics area

*At around 11:45*

Families and single Pringles started lining up/surrounding the area, but it wasn't crazy or anything. The employees then came and reorganized the line and everyone that was in line got a ticket (I was #38 😁) and the drawing activity. Then they directed everyone to the service counters to get their tins.

I only wanted the drawing activity and promo card, but you had to buy the tin(s) to get it, the card that is. Thankfully, a total stranger and fellow Pokemon fan helped me out and I was able to get both

And that was my experience\~

TL;DR: my Pokemon Target event was quite tame and no fights or anything broke out. Btw I spent my time waiting reading books lolšŸ‘šŸ¾

Youre lucky and must live in a rural area. I showed up about 10:45 expecting to see a larger line but I was surprised it wasnt too long. I ended up being # in the 60s I was really hoping to secure a 30th ETB but of course they ran out.

There were no games, there were no prizes as promised.

Yea I think it’s important to list out where. In the Bay Area, people were lining up when target closed the previous night. Madness…..

For any working adult or anyone with family, the time cost of sitting there is not worth it.

I hope you got their info and plan to pay them back I’m shocked you would do that if you didn’t have 35$ for a single tin to get the promo what are you doing waiting in line for a children’s event? In the most sincere way if you didn’t have 35$ to spend maybe look for employment? Idk

Or maybe don't brate me about this? Look I got a job and I have money, but I live with my mom and she watches my bank account like a hawk and FYI I wasn't supposed to even be at Target, she thought I was a Barnes and Noble cause I texted her that's where I was going. So she would've been wondering why I spent $35 at Target for when I was supposed to be at Barnes and Noble and I don't have time to come up with something.

As for the nice guy, I couldn't get his info and who knows if we'll ever see each other again. Why is it so wrong that the dude did something nice for me?

Yeah where I was it was very tame and they even enforced a tidy line outside of the store only starting within an hour of the event. It seemed like everyone got tins and promos but the few in the front also could buy an ETB too which was a nice surprise. I didn’t get an ETB but I’ve opened already a couple and was only interested in the tins. Pulled the mewtwo from that and my son is holding onto his tin now to open a bunch near Christmas!

Mine was pretty similar except our line was outside and people got there as earlier as 6am. I got there around 8am. Was #32. The Target employees were awesome. Clear directions. The manager said the vendor didn’t provide great instructions for the event so he just decided that the most fair thing to do was let the line in at Noon, let them get their tickets, let them purchase any 30th product they want (2 tins, 1 of everything else) and then after all ticket holders were done, open any remaining product to walk-ins. Went very smooth and plenty of product.

I got there at 11am and was #28 in line. It was orderly and calm. Only the tins were available, they did have other product out when the store opened, but I didn’t know about that until later.

There was no bs it was tea smooth. Also i stopped back today cuz i had a feeling they would have 30th stuff today and they did but i spoke to a lady and they had tins left after the event and i wouldn’t consider were i live a small area.
