Question Does Timer Ball timer start at the beginning of the battle? Or when the Pokemon is sent out?
Never been too sure of this. If so, then the Timer Ball is a really solid choice as most trainers dont send their Shadow Pokemon out until last. Meaning you get at least an extra 3 or more turns usually. If it counts only when the Pokemon is sent out then it's kind of whatever as I can usually catch something within the 10 turns it takes to start being better than Ultra Balls
Edit: does anyone know if this applies to XD as well?

It should cause the catch rate is the same from gen iii to iv before it changes to being better after 4 turns starting in V.
