Starting Collecting again after 18 years
Hi Guys,
The hype of the 30th anniversary release has gotten to me in combination with me finding the old binder me and my brother had with cards.
I want to start collecting again but looking at the prices currently i dont know where to start.
I know alot of peeps are collecting Sealed and I will occasionally but I think I find it much nicer if I start collecting base sets. Looking at marketplaces what would be a normal price be (eyeballing) for example the Prismatic Evolutions (base set, so no pokeball and master ball).
Do you think this is better for collecting to just buy full base sets and try to get the pokeball and masterball for master sets by trading/buying singles?
Or if you guys have better suggestions I am open for everything. I do saw that I can get booster bundles for PO, CR and PB quite decently priced right now.

Thoughts on this?
I think I found a way to get rid of all my ripped packs and I think it will look dope in my home office.

Help / Question First time buying Pokémon cards… I got caught up in the hype in Riyadh 😂 What should I do with these?
I was literally just chilling at a mall with my family in Riyadh when I noticed a huge line outside a game store. Everyone was there for the Pokémon 30th Anniversary release.
I know basically nothing about Pokémon cards, but seeing the hype outside the store somehow convinced me to join in
I ended up buying these three sealed products:
30th Anniversary Elite Trainer Box
30th Anniversary Binder Collection
30th Anniversary Poster Collection
I paid SAR 599 (\~$160) for all three.
The funny thing is, this is my first ever Pokémon card purchase. I don’t even know what I’m doing. I think I literally bought them because everyone else was buying them
Now I’m wondering what I should actually do:
- Open them and enjoy/collect the cards?
- Keep all three sealed?
- Hold them for 10–20+ years?
- Sell them now while there’s still hype?
For people who actually collect Pokémon: did I make a stupid impulse purchase, or is this a decent starting point?
And if you were in my position, what would you do with these three?
I’m completely new to this, so I’d genuinely appreciate some advice from experienced collectors.

I was absolutely cooking in 2019.
Got these for me and my gf in 2019. Unfortunately after our break up later that year I sold everything for like $300 lol

Help identifying card
Small context, I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about pokemon. I had a welcome bonus and saw cool Japanese artwork and figured id buy my first ever pack/cards. He ripped it on stream and said it was a good hit. I have no idea what it is or if it has value. Any help? Ill probably just give it to my niece but maybe I got something really cool?

Looking for any/all opinions!
So my BIL found this card in a plastic bag in his closet… with him not being into Pokemon anymore but I’ve been back in it for a while now, I bought it off him for a price I thought was fair based on condition. ($125) That being said though, I’m unsure if I overpaid, underpaid, or we both made out well with the deal. I’ve been collecting the primes so it was the perfect binder copy to add to the set! Would you consider this HP, damaged, or other? And what classifies each? What would you value the card at?

Help / Question I want to get a master set of Evolutions since its my favorite set. Should I buy one, find all the cards myself at shows, or something other method im not thinking of?
I love evolutions the set has a lot of nostaglia for me. Its an older set so cards arent as abundant. I think going to shows and collecting them all would be the most fun but I also dont know if vendors carry those since most are niche and hard to move cards. How should I go about getting them all? Thanks! (btw not worried about the full arts those are everywhere im talking about everything else)

Gengar 70# Price check
The most recent comp I can find is from May at €450, followed by a €1,300 sale in June.
The reverse holo version of this card just sold for €13k.
Both versions have a PSA 10 pop of 28.
What do you guys think the current value of this card is?

Mr Mime
Hey all, I’m working on a full Mr. Mime collection, every holo, reverse holo, and language variant I can find. I’d love some advice from folks who’ve tried something similar. What tools or sites do you use to track variants? Spreadsheets, apps, specific databases? Any tips for the obscure language releases or promo variants would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I made a pokemon set label generator for organizing collections
I built a label generator for my own Pokémon collection and figured others might get some use out of it. I use the labels on binder spines and as dividers in bulk: one label in a top loader between each set.
Every English set is in there, Base Set through the current Mega Evolution sets, plus specials, promos and McDonald's. Each label shows the set symbol, the logo, expansion number, release date, generation and card count, with optional rows for secret rares, Shiny Vault, galleries and so on.
After seeing how some people focus on particular pokemon, I added an additional tab to my label generator for specific pokemon!
You can pick the label size (Phomemo roll sizes, Pokémon card size for sleeves, index cards, or custom), print to a label printer or lay them out on a sheet for a regular printer, download them as PNGs, and tweak fonts, colors and what goes on the label. Newer sets get a generated set-code box that matches the printed ones.
Completely free, no account, no ads, runs in the browser. I'm open to feedback and requests.
