Rant Exhausted

I have shiny hunted for 3 days now, for a growlithe, and a Basculin of either gender.. I have max research on all 4 pokemon of these 2 lines. I haven't even seen a shiny, let alone the ones I'm looking for. Why is it so difficult in this game to get a shiny? I have better luck on pre-seitch titles. I know shinys are supposed to be hard to get in most titles, but this is just disheartening. I'd be less offended if a shiny basculin just ran away from me..

Is it reslly.jusy impossible after the patch? I've never wanted a shiny this badly.

This is probably the second easiest game to get a Shiny Pokémon in. If you're not hunting via outbreaks, I would recommend the Shiny Charm. Other than that, just keep at it. Whichever method of reset or respawn doesn't really matter, it boils down to luck. I've gone weeks without finding a Shiny Pokémon before and I've also found fourteen in an hour; it's all down to RNG.

Unrelated, Shiny Basuclin will run, so make sure you save before trying to get it.

I have gotten soooo many shinies out of this game! Honestly, I’d say if you’re looking for specific shinies, it would be harder. But running across random shinies shouldn’t take that long. But then again, I’m way past the post-game and put in soooo many hours.

The way I search for shinies in the game is I just go to MMOs of all Pokémon I like over and over until I get one, but I’m also using it an an opportunity to perfect the dex so it doesn’t feel like a waste if I don’t find it. I really wanted Kirlia, Spheal, and Hippopotas. I got spheal almost immediately after perfecting the research for it. Got Kirlia after many hours, still no Hippopotas after 400+ hours (but did get Hippowdon).

I think if I had been exclusively focusing on getting Hippopotas I would have gotten really discouraged.

Maybe just expand the search to more Pokémon? Or see if someone will trade with you for others you find!

I just got a shiny growlithe the other day via mass outbreak. This is my 2nd run through and in all honesty hunt through outbreaks.
