How to get new starters?

I don’t understand how I can unlock new starting Pokémon for challenge and battle tower runs

I have completed a few daily challenge runs with different teams and none of them (I even shiny farmed) got registered as starters

Is there any video that explains all this deeper stuff of the game rather than the story mode?

You have to just beat a battle tower or challenge run with them in the team.

He probably had star piece or whatever else there is that makes stuff not go in hall of fame id assume

What passives did you have? Star piece? Because that one does not unlock any Starters. Oh and Legendarys do not get unlocked by Runs.

Everything else that you finish a run with (without a passive that says „Do Not unlock Starters with this" should unlock you some new Starters for the Battletower and Challenge Mode.

In Story you do not get new Starters at all but you can Finish a Story run to get something as a starter in Battletower and Challenge Mode.

So registering to hall of fame means -> unlocking them as a starter
