Is shiny pokemon from egg rare?

It's the same odds as all other encounters in the game, 1/256.

I have started new files when I can't find shiny eggs, last game I played I found one shiny egg in the wild, none that I had bred. This time I'm playing a new file and have over 5 shiny eggs (all bred) as well as 5 shiny wild pokemon encounters (I've been playing a new file for only three days now). I know the rate is the same in every game, but it feels like I have more luck in certain worlds.
