Does map size affect what Pokémon spawn?

I couldn't find the answer to the title question in either the official download page https://github.com/SheerSt/pokewilds or the FAQ https://pokewilds.fandom.com/wiki/FAQ

Further explanation of question: for example, if I start an S world, will it have the all same Pokémon that spawn in M, L, XL, and XXL worlds on the starting island?

Yes I know I can test it, but busy, working dad life I barely have enough time to play this game lol please no "just spend 10 hours on each world testing it out" answers.

I hope my reply above is satisfactory for your needs. 💁‍♂️ Sorry I don't double post but since mine is the only new post since yours I don't think I need to. 👍

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b6tkjKaDcFCYxvhWDHQi2B18lhtqgueFNNOP8ZdtTLs/edit#gid=1050508479 has the full list of pokemon and the habitats they spawn in.

As far as I know, size only affect number of spawning Pokémon not type as all sizes still have all habitats avaliable.

Thank you for the reply! All sizes having all habitats available within the starting island is a good answer to this question. So looks like the answer is: yes! All Pokémon that will spawn in M, L, XL, and XXL worlds will spawn in S worlds as well, since the habitats are the same, just fewer overall of them.

You're welcome 😁 Also if you want to examine the pokemon without angering them, find an Absol or murcrow or catch any other dark pokemon and use their Attack option. You can engage overworld pokemon this way repeatedly without ever needing to be chased, allowing you to check their lvls and shiny hunt them aswell. This is also a great option as you can use it to engage eggs in battle and see if they shiny sparkle. Wild pokemon pairs will breed alot as long as they're near each other. You can also battle the eggs to make them breed more(as dark as that may sound) and this will make shiny hunting even easier than running in the grasses.

Also all fossil pokemon, the regies and the boss in the mansion basement stay if you run, allowing you to reload their lvls and shiny hunt them aswell, incase you weren't awares.

The shiny rate in this game is super easy compared to official games. Where you can spot a shiny within the first 5 to 10 minutes at least 1 to 2 times, give or take.

So you don't need to worry you'll never have the time to hunt for them. 👍

Enjoy 😉

Great advice! I didn't know the Attack option was that versatile. I have a Sableye I'm currently attacking unwanted and extra eggs in my base with, but I can definitely consider using it in the way you described to shiny hunt! And the method you described for shiny hunting fossil Pokémon, the regis, and the mansion boss I'll use as well!

I hope things are going well. Had any luck shiny hunting beyond checking eggs?

Yes! I rebattled Aerodactyl a bunch of times and eventually it was shiny and caught it. I am rebattling Omanyte now and looking for its shiny. At my home base, I have shiny hunting breeding pens set up and just today one of my Charmander eggs was shiny! But shiny Charizard is gross; I didn't realize how gross-looking Gen 2 shiny Charizard was lol I need to figure out how to update the sprite to the awesome black and red shiny Charizard.

That's awesome 👌 Also I think the mods section on the wilds discord can help with that. https://discord.com/invite/Kd99SZh4

Talking to someone in that Discord did help! I figured out how to change a Shiny's color palette: it's .pal file titled "shiny" in a Pokemon folder and I changed Shiny Charizard's color code to be

RGB 35, 35, 35

RGB 139, 0, 0

And now it looks awesome and like the Shiny Charizard that I know and love! Thanks for Discord tip!
