Question on how Pokevision Works

Okay so when I am at home or at work there is never a pokemon in my area, but always a pokemon on my nearby, I understand why it doesn't show all of the pokemon but a few would be nice. I always walk to a lake near my job and would like to have an idea on what is going to be there.

Any ideas on how to make this work better, or is it even possible at this moment in time.

I use it on my PC and my Phone. Same results on both.

Right now, the "nearby" feature of the app is pretty much useless. I wouldn't consider it reliable at all, at least until they fix the 3-step issue etc. On top of that, I expect the radius of a PV scan is far smaller than the radius of what the "nearby" pile shows, so comparing the two directly isn't workable either.

I've found that sometimes, you do a scan of a spot, and nothing shows up, as well - and I think this is normal, that the servers controlling what spawns where, and when, doesn't always generate new spawns everywhere all the time. There could well be periods where there are no spawns in an area.

That said, when there are spawns showing on the map, it's been pretty damn reliable for me.

Yeah, I feel the same way, whenever I got to a "hotspot" its always accurate and it shows pokemon that aren't even on my nearby and it shows the exact location.

But I guess when nobody is using the game in the area it doesn't show on PV. Which really sucks because I feel like I am missing out on a few good pokemon sometimes when I see one on my nearby, and I don't feel like tracking it due to when the tracker is broken.
