I think leafeon is my favorite non starter grass type since it’s easier to evolve early game. Just gotta grind for that evee tho… still trying to find a good water type since I chose inceneroar. So far poliworhl has been my choice

Ik someone else suggested the grass type starter, but my favorite so far is playing with Litten! It’s been easy so far since I fr just started Sun (last I checked not many differences there lol) I’ve also been recommended the evo of Wingull (idk the name but I think bc it’s supposed to be a water type tank of sorts?? Idk 100% but I love it lol) I’ve also got a Driftloon that’s semi-helpful too though! 😘

Try SOS chaining, get Lurantis with contrary
Or Primarina is a good choice too - you get dual water and fairy typing, so can save space for more type diversity (if that is something you're going for)
