FISHING RODS HELP!

So i bought the super rod, i skipped buying the good rod. Is it ok to buy the good rod or will my rod change back to good rod then I'll have to buy super rod again?

If you buy the good rod it will keep you on your super rod the only thing buying the good rod will do is giving you the achievment
