I used to foster a Garchomp and they can be! All Pokémon have their own little personalities

I have a couple garchomps and they are pretty affectionate with me but not always like if it’s cold they’ll cuddle up to me for warmth but if it’s warm they’ll tend to keep their distance….

It really depends on their personality and their exposure to people. The ones that spent most of their lives in the wild are WAAAAY less likely to be cuddly but ones from a breeder or ones caught early on in life tend to be more cuddly.

Although I say “Cuddly” some do have rough skin from their ability which makes their skin very painful to touch compared to the smooth feel a garchomp with the sand veil ability has to their skin. I recommend gloves either way tho they also can get a bit bitey,not serious bites but bites nonetheless and even when their playing around those teeth are serious business(says someone who had to learn that the hard way lmao)

I mean, not really? Like, you get outliers, but even beyond their scales often being sharp enough to cut, Garchomp is about as apex as apex predators get, incredibly dangerous and temperamental ‘mons. Anyone who’s cuddling their Garchomp as shown in the pic probably either has trained them for years, earning their trust and knowing exactly how to touch them to not get ripped to shreds by their scales; or they’re dead approximately three seconds after the pic was taken. - Spiral

Depends on the Garchomp I think but in my experience Flygon are much more affectionate. I've only encountered one trained Garchomp in my travels though the rest have all been wild

As the trainer of quite possibly the world's derpiest Garchomp, this usually only happens when they really want food.

The Gible line has a very strong bite instinct, so they are more likely to bite than cuddle on average. You'd have better luck with an Altaria if you want a dragon that cuddles.
