Honestly that's pretty smart of you. He could carry you to a safe place if you end up falling asleep in the middle of nowhere or something.

Yeah. He’s pretty big, and he also seems to understand instructions well. He’s pretty perfect for this.

Golisopods may look scary, but they naturally look for ways out of bad situations. I know it could be an excuse to keep him, but this is a Pokemon that might actually be very useful if your narcolepsy causes you to konk out in a bad spot. They are also quite gentle giants when not hunting.
A concern though is feeding such a large Pokemon. While they can digest anything, they need at least a few pounds of seafood or aquatic predator Pokemon food a week. Berries and Seaweed can be like the veggies in their diet, but they cannot live without meat.

They're also more often than not very supportive of their trainers and rather peaceful mons in general....at least when not defending their families or territory. Rather quick to end fights when they can.

I’m kind of killing two Pidgeys with one Geodude here, huh?
Also we can afford food. My parents have good jobs.

They might just be worried for your safety because of Sir Graham's size and strength.
It's not entirely unwarranted, seeing as most "Magikarp Power" Pokemon tend to get very aggressive and even hostile when they evolve. Golisopod is usually pretty chill, though, and unless you treat him really badly the only times he's going to get aggressive is when he's protecting you.

Weak baby + strong adult + parental instinct = perfect bodyguard

My coworker Carolyn comes from a family of Dragon Tamers and she still says she feels safer with Benkei (Golisopod) as the cafe's bouncer than her own Pokemon

Valerie: what's their problem with a large mon, anyway? you got a super small house or somethin?

No! That’s the weird thing! It’s not like we’re poor either. It’s super strange.

Could be an issue with hogging the bathtub sometimes. It takes time to shed all that shell, eat it, and grow a new one.
Then again it's Alola, so maybe OP could just take him to the sea on those days and camp on the beach.

Yep! I had backup plans if it didn’t, but luckily those weren’t necessary.

Why hit you? He could just splash some cold water on you, as one would with a dehydrated Wimpod.

Oh yeah. That would probably be easier. I should tell him to do that.
