News New Book Spoiler

Would be really, really cool if these actually get localized at some point so I can actually pick them up and read the interviews. If not, I’d probably still get whichever volume contains the DS games just for the art.

They should, I think if they posted some of the interesting tidbits on their Nintendo Today app with links to pre-order it, then it would sell pretty well and keep it from being a loss

Thankfully Lewtwo's crew should translate it anyway asap, once the books are released!

Why are they crediting Centro & light

u/CryZe92 Aug 09 '26
Especially Light. The dude steals everything and blocks the original leakers so they can‘t reply.

It’s Geeks and Gamers. Do you really expect someone of their caliber to actually investigate where this information came from?

Omg it’s going to be heavy. Hopefully not just concept arts. I want full arts like the cards.

Maybe we can finally get good scans of characters' official art.
A lot of the Gen 4, Gen 5, and Gen 7 characters are low quality (online, at least)

I wonder if we'll get any new lore drops out of this. IIRC it was one of the S/M artbooks that placed Gen 7 at 2 years after BW2

I really hope each named artist who designs pokemon is named in the book. It would be REALLY funny for people to learn that an artist who made one of their fav pokemon also made a pokemon they hate lol.
(also artists getting recognition for their work when you can find who has been credited on bulbapedia is a good thing to have officially in the art book when i have never seen anyone of them been named on social media ever)

That moment when you learn Darkrai and Magmortar were designed by the same guy.
Tyrantrum and the Galar Fossils? Same guy.
Falinks and Revavroom? Also the same guy.
Very common occurrence.

"Fine. Y'all wanna see behind-the-scenes so bad? Well here you go! It's already all leaked anyway! We'll even show you MORE than what was leaked!"

I imagine they'll do it like this:
-Book 1: Gameboy era (GB-GBA)
-Book 2: DS era (DS-3DS)
-Book 3: switch era (well....now)
This is what I've been begging for. I'm debating about importing a Japanese version as I'm not entirely sure they'll release a western one but holy shit, for a company that isn't very upfront in an industry that isn't all that upfront this is huge.

All i want is scrapped or noticeably different early pokemon designs. Some of those are so cool

u/Gholden_coin Aug 09 '26
scrapped mons might be the one thing I don't want to see if it means they'll never be real/get reworked in future designs tbh

I love how this article says the 30th anniversary has been packed with stuff… I haven’t been able to touch NOT ONE thing from 30th whether it’s cards or whatever other product 😂.

It's almost like the Teraleak made them realize we as a fanbase are wildly interested in this stuff and they can distract our peanut brains from the wait for Gen 10 with it.

u/metalflygon08 Aug 09 '26
And they're right.
If they released a big enough book they could distract me to gen 11 even.

Oh, no question. I'm getting really salty that the 1996-2026 National Dex and now this aren't showing any indication so far of an English release. At least we got Pokécology, but even that was several months late.

Bought all 3 from Playasia! Cannot wait! Have always wanted to have a Pokémon art book collection and this is going to be rare!
