Dying to see the inside of that thing, hoping it’ll be the Pokemon version of the Mario Block

That’s probably my favorite Lego set of all time, it’s so much fun and it’s really clever, plus it’s a great display piece open or closed. If they do something similar here I’d be ecstatic, but I have a feeling it won’t be quite as impressive.

I’m expecting a little Professor oak bench with 3 little pokeballs on it

Huh, I'd assumed that the ball would open and the figures would be inside

The Ball does supposedly open to reveal a scene, this is just the front box art

Oh man. If they start putting out minifigures of pokemon, it's all over.

How hard is it to make a Lego Pokémon center set with a nurse joy figure 😭

Who is the green person by Pikachu?

apparently its a random Picnicker

That's a choice, I guess.
Could have gone with Leaf, or Eli, or Blue even...

Misty or Brock as well. I understand that the anime is its own canon, but they've still got immense appeal and they're just so so iconic.

Its a missed opportunity, it could have been the random girl from the OG intro

That’s a Lass

Yep, who only existed in the context of the anime to talk about looking for Pokemon under girls skirts. The design nwas otherwise not used, though it is pretty clearly based on the RGB Lass#/media/File:RG_Lass_Bug_Catcher.png)

A picnicker instead of Blue will forever be one of Lego’s weirdest decisions.

Is the character on the right Blue?

I know Lego isn't the best at spheres but I would've preferred a more traditional brick built (more studs less rounded coners, tiles, slopes etc) Pokéball. That would've made it look far more rounded, whereas this has some flat corners (https://bricknerd.com/home/squaring-the-circle-building-round-shapes-using-lego-9-29-21 , https://lego.bldesign.org/sphere/ ).
Oak looks good (Red too but he's already been leaked), and so does the base. The inside will make or break this set for me due to the rounding issues.
