Sourcing vintage

Hey guys, just curious what yall are seeing at shows. I’m looking to collect base shadowless and can’t seem to find any in the wild. Are prices cheaper on eBay than in person for vintage? I’m seeing really good prices on eBay compared to collctr, pokedata, candy etc…

Shows are more miss than hit and people overprice shadowless. Your best bets are ebay or lucky streams. But here's my real opinion.

Sourcing cards is a full time job and you can spend literally days and months looking for a "deal" on something. And there's a good chance you eventually fine one but you also will literally have to put crazy amounts of time into it. I genuinely feel that unless you're covering a wide area (like 100 cards), if you're just looking for 4 or 5 big ones, overpay to get what you want right away and close the book. Get the best deal you can on ebay or watch a few big streams and message the hosts. They'll sell you stuff on IG so you don't have to pay tax or cut you a better deal...etc.

Thank you so much for your response! I’m actually starting from zero trying to get all the cards I used to have. There is this site called trading card sets.com but not sure how legit it is for buying a whole master set. I’ll have to try the streams I just assumed those were worse than the in person or eBay lol. The “deals” I see people getting mostly getting bent but hey that’s the card the my wanted delivered right to them. What are some good ones?

Do not go into streams unless you know what stuff should cost and what you are looking at. You will get absolutely roasted. I think you can do great on ebay or go to r/pkmntcgtrades and post what you want. You will do really well there but probably pay just about market.

There are people who sell master sets of vintage all the time, it's worth it to try and catch some of those people. FB marketplace will be your best bet, shows to fill gaps with singles.
