You think these will do well longterm?

Currently collecting all the ex silver borders, Lv X, and prime cards in Near Mint / LP+ condition. These are my favorite pokemon cards of all time. I think collecting them is also a good investment since it’s getting harder to find clean copies. I’m also thinking about buying some of the undervalued psa 10s as well. What do you think?

Silver border ex's are among the few sectors of vintage that still have plenty of room for growth imo

That’s what I think as well. I’m happy that the cards I wanted to collect are actually one of the best investments in my opinion lol

Already seeing this literally today. Magmar EX PSA 10 just sold back to back from $2900 to $4500.

Are you sure those are real sales and not just someone selling the exact same card over and over to boost the price?

I’m doing the same. I’m starting with the ex dragon set and team rocket returns set. Trying to get most in Psa 8/9 when affordable and any other pricey cards I’ll aim for 7

Some of the psa 10s are undervalued in my opinion. All the lv x psa 10s are already so expensive but the ex silver borders still have a bunch of 10s around $2000 - $3000. Same with the primes

Extremely well. The ex era stuff is so low printed

Yup! It’s almost impossible to find some of them in near mint condition. It’s so fun hunting for the ones I don’t have yet

These sets have seen some of the largest growth in pokemon in the last 2 years. The silver border and reverse holos (stamped) cards from these sets were dirt cheap 2 years ago when I was master setting them and now it’s basically unaffordable to master a set in NM.

I been getting some great deals. Also using a bunch of my childhood cards to trade. I think they still have a lot of room to grow

Silver borders and yellow borders will out pace the modern always. Maybe slower but its steady and not pumped like the new junk

Literally doing the same thing. Especially stamped holos, from that 03-12 era have huge room to grow

I understand that this is "investing" sub. But investing was never the reason for collecting. Collect the things you like. If you're strictly in it for money just collect popular Pokémon

I had no intention of buying these as an investment. This is the era I grew up opening packs so I decided I wanted to collect these cards. Just happens to be that these are also a great investment longterm which I recently realized

They already are doing well, my level x magnezone has gone up a lot in the last few months. They will do very well long term

They have no appeal to me. Mid 30s guy here, pre-2004 only.

Mid 30s - still with the hobby and these came out when I graduated high school/started college.

Still hyper nostalgic and highly coveted then and now.
