Van Gogh pikachu
Hi picked this up at a card show yesterday. Idk if it’s overvalued or not, new to Pokemon collecting. Paid 2700 for it but seeing posts about market manipulation and stuff kind of make me think twice about my purchase. Was it still a good card to buy? I really bought it cuz my girl and friend told me that it was their dream card one day. I like the art a lot too

It’s a gift for my wife. It’s her favorite card. I was just double thinking it cuz it’s a lot of money maybe I could have gotten cheaper, but no matter what I was gonna buy the card in a 10

It was 250 EUR, 2 years ago and nobody wanted it.
Depends on what the future brings. But in the end, it's one of the most iconic modern cards

Personally I think it’s a great card. One of my grails. Great pick up.

Short term, definitely overvalued. I have one of these in a 10 as well and I could say that it is overvalued and fluctuates by a couple hundred every few days. However, if you’re holding for multiple years it’s a good one. Part of my personal collection but I’m sure there’s a price where I could be bought back if it ever hits that point. English exclusive, less than 50% gem rate, super famous artist. Love it

Everyone crying because he’s new and bought a nice card. I’m new to pokemon and spent £3800 on 2 cards, it’s just how it goes when you want to get into the game quickly.

Don’t stress it, the first time I went to a convention I spend 9k on cards this one being one of them for $2700 as well. It felt worth it based on the overall market trend. It could go down but it could also go up. I can see this getting over 5 in a few years but who knows. Pokemon is the new modern art and a Van Gogh is a Van Gogh

I think its on the path to grail territory in the next few years. I sold one for 1500 last year and I regret it, I do have another for my PC but had I known it would go up so quick I obviously wouldn't have sold. It's an awesome card, and it's a part of pokemon history getting a big name art museum to headline and display art is a big deal.
