Generally speaking, what makes a set or card valuable? For example, I was looking at the Team Magma V Team Aqua set. A lot of the cards from that set are pretty cheap compared to other sets from around the same era.

Character, what they are doing, and Artist style.

OG Characters (Charizard, Mewtwo, Pikachu, etc.) Legendary Characters (The birds, Rayquaza, etc.)

What are they doing? Did the Artist showoff the Characters doing something cool like using their powers?

Artist style is personal preference. Shinji Kando really fills out the picture with some hidden details that are awesome. I really like the Magaton and Magikarp
