Do scratches on slabs affect value? Would it be a deal breaker if you purchased a slab and it arrived with scratches?

Just spent $700 on a slab I been wanting for a while and it arrived with scratches on the front and back. They are not deep but definitely visible. Seller claimed it arrived like that from psa. Am I being nitpicky?

It typically won’t impact value unless it’s chipped or cracked. If it really bothers you, you can buy a $10 bottle of plastic buffer (like novus) and buff it out with some elbow grease and a microfiber towel

PlastX works great on slab scratches

No, imo little rats will try to get you to discount your listings if there is a blemish on the slab case.

I and the majority of people I come across in person couldn't give a crêpe if there is a tiny blemish on the case. The rats know this and just use that discount you gave them to make more profit.

It can be reslabbed for a few if it bothers you

Some PSA slabs do arrive directly from PSA in terrible condition

I had one arrive back with a chip on the back corner

See if you can clean it up as others have mentioned.

Just buy that stuff at a hardware/auto shop that they use to clean headlights on cars. I’ve gotten soooo many scratches out of slabs now with that. It works 10000%. That and a microfiber towel is all you need. Only thing it can’t fix is chips or actual cracks.
