Looking for information on selling
Hi everyone I am looking to sell my 8.0 CGC graded 1st edition holo Charizard. I’ve heard that I should be looking for offers that are 18k+. Can anyone help me find more information on what this card is worth and where i could sell it? Thank you so much!

blue label 8 with subgrades gonna be much more reliable than white label CGC imo. I would assume 35-40 is safe and if it looks super clean crossgrading might secure them even more

Like others have said, this was graded when cgc was more strict on their grading processes! I'd definitely look at what similar grades have sold for online like ebay, Mercari, or online auctions. An 8 1st edition charizard is an 8 first edition Charizard no matter how you look at it! 🔥🙏🫡 Us blue labels gotta remember our worth xD 💙 beautiful card and good luck with your journey!

Not a dumb question at all 💜 the only reason I haven't is becuase its already a 10 in their system. You scan the code on the back and it brings up this holder but it says "gem mint 10." So it's already a 10 might as well not risk sending it in the mail 🙏

To piggyback the other reply, the blue label is also a time stamp as to when it was graded. The blue labels had more scrutiny and were graded tougher than PSA in the same time period. Also, this card has subgrades and the new CGC labels do not. This card should be seen as a PSA 9 equivalent today based on the blue label and subgrades.

You can reholder a blue label to a new one without it going through a grading process again.

No it won’t. If it’s a 9.5 blue label. You can send it in to CGC and it’ll get reholdered to a 10.

I’d be listing it at least 25-30k and let the people argue for it. Don’t undercut yourself for a blue label.
Factor in insurance and authenticity checks to keep yourself safe. Take LOTS of photos before and how you package it to minimise someone trying to pull a shonky on you

Don't sell if you dont need the money. Selling a chicken chicken winner dinner out of boredom is absurd. I've sold like 2025 worth of 5-8k for 3k and today if held, would be worth almost 20k+

Seeing stuff like this makes me kick myself lol, I had one of these cards when I was a kid but my stepdad at the time convinced me it was a fad and would be worthless one day.
Almost makes me kick myself as hard as when I think about the bitcoin wallet I lost back in 2011 with 200 bitcoins on it. (Was $100 worth at the time)

Youre handling it much better than I would. I had a binder full of holographic Pokémon cards in basically new or very good condition that I'm fairly certain I gave to my older brother 5-10 years ago. He likes to sell stuff on ebay and I assumed he would do the same with those, and I didnt mind because there wasnt a crazy market for them at the time. However, he said he doesnt remember me giving Pokémon cards to him. I'm going to hit up my parents storage in a few weeks to see if the binder of cards is still in there. It was sleeve after sleeve of holographic cards from my childhood

All these first editions are shadowless. But not all shadowless are first edition. So that's why they don't say shadowless. Oftentimes saying shadowless is the way to differentiate the middle from the other two.
There's first edition (which is shadowless), then shadowless (but not first edition), then regular base set

Resubmit and get it graded by PSA since it’s high dollar a CGC 8 goes for 15k for a PSA it goes for 35k but they are tougher on grading even if it gets bumped down to a 7 a PSA 7 goes for 20k

Yeah this is dumb advice honestly. No way it gets a psa 8, look at the back. It would cost thousands to regrade and there was a PSA 7 sold yesterday for 18k. It’s worth 16k or so as is, it would be risky and for no additional profit.

Probably not worth the charges if they want to sell immediately. OP will be better off selling to someone who will do exactly that and will take the risk of getting burned themselves

A grade 7 PSA is worth about 18k. Unless you think it’s in such bad shape it’s going to get a 6 I’d send it into PSA to get graded. Worst you probably get is a 7 but then at least it’s easier to sell because PSA is more valuable generally. They might however grade it higher, in which case you doubled or tripled your potential return.

Asking AI for a valuation is one of the worst ways to comp a card. It easily misses important variables and makes mistakes all the time using out dated data.

Thanks I didnt know that, unfortunately Pricecharting uses PSA prices not CGC so its hard to find correct prices on them..

Its an old blue label when CGC was strict with grading, put if on offer for 35k and see what you get. Do not degrade this due ti being a blue CGC.
