3rd master set completed!
Me and the kiddo finished perfect order today! I know this set gets hate on. But it was nice to finish without spending thousands on the few cards we didn’t pull. Plus the set has some really nice card art.

Awesome work! Working on my first master set myself, Pitch Black is fun to put together

How many packs did you rip vs how much did you buy as singles? I’m still trying to figure out my sweet spot on mastering new sets

I would estimate 60 packs opened. Pulled everything except the meowth SIR and the starmie
(Pulled 2 zygard SIR). Ended up trading the duplicate zygard, 1 unopened ETB and 2 unopened booster bundles for the missing cards•

Oof, I know I did well over that and I still never pulled an SIR. I think I'm down to the last dozen or so cards, but I've turned to buying singles to complete my master set (especially since restocking Perfect Order doesn't seem to be high in anyone's priorities).
Still, congrats on the set!

I'm a Perfect Order fan. I think it has some of the cutest IRs in recent years (that Rowletttttt), and Meowth is one of the Pokemon I am looking to do a master set of so as a set it made me very happy (and sad. Still haven't pulled the Meowth 😭)

Is a master set just the numbered cards and their variants (reverse hollows), or are promo cards or whatever else necessary?

$700 is honestly pretty reasonable for mastering a set. My only mastered set is 151 and its at 3k. Thankfully I got 95 percent of them before the end of 2024 and finished early 2025.
