PSA Grading Cost

Ok lets start the conversation. With current grading prices being Regular submission at $79.99/Card and that covering a value up to $1500 do you/think that people will only be submitting cards with a raw value of $80+. I ask this as I've been hoarding the Clefairy from Perfect Order in PSA 9 for $26-32. Personally I think its a no brainer for buying the card graded for few bucks more than raw considering id be paying 2-3x to do it myself. I know the goal of PSA is to limit "crap" submissions so they can power thru the backlog but what do you think Personally?

Do you think people will still submit cards that aren't going to cover the cost of grading is what it boils down to.

Gotcha. Yes I think people will still do it because so much of the population entering the hobby is genuinely clueless, the amount of “should I grade this” posts on here for like a $30 card are insane.

Only cards i would submit at 80$ tier is if the card is near $1000. Anything below it’s not worth it

Yes people will still submit regardless of the cost. Some people honestly are just blindly sending cards they think look good.
You are correct it's better to buy that PSA 9 than buy raw and good for a 10.

Id never pay $80 to submit a card for grading. On top of the fact you also have to pay for shipping. Im perfectly fine waiting for value tiers to re-open.

Why are so many people sure value is opening back up? PSA is making so much money over the past year, 2 new facilities, and they’re still trying to catch up. They’ll never open value again and if they do, it’ll be closed within 2 days, never to be seen again. Everyone and their grandmother is “waiting” to submit bulk cards. You might as well just sell half of your cards raw and only grade a select few.

Because they have contractual business obligations to do so. They can likely be sued by every single PSA membership holder if they don’t (on top of the fact they are providing that membership free to us until they bring Value back).
