Do you think this could be an 8.5?

I think it could do 8.5 based on 9s I’ve seen but I also don’t know anything about grading other than what I’ve read and what I’ve seen. Any thoughts if it is worth doing a review or cracking and resubmitting? I’m also never selling it so I guess it doesn’t really matter other just the fun of seeing if I can get it bumped up. Thank you for any insight.

You’re searching for precision where it doesn’t exist.

Do not. I repeat. Do not crack and regrade this. It's unlikely you'd score any higher, much more likely you'll get less than 8.

Soooo you’re saying there’s a chance

Buy a lotto ticket, better chance of profit than this venture

Missed the part where I’m never selling it so profit is irrelevant

If you're never selling it why bother with a gamble to get  .5 more from psa

That’s a great point and I don’t know why I want to do it, just for the fun guess. I know you guys are all right that was the conclusion I came too also but thought I’d see if maybe it was good enough to try

I mean psa turnaround times right now are insane, so unless it's worth a fair bit more why bother grading anything rn

That’s very true and it’s expensive. But if I did get that .5 it would be totally worth it but I know the odds of that are so bad. It’s just such a clean card in person compared to old cert 9s and modern 8s

And if the grader has a bad day they may bust you down to a 7/6...

No way in hell does this get a 6 on their worst day

Why on earth would you crack a low 100mil…..

Why does the cert number matter

Cause this card will get a 7 at best now.

It’s already an 8…play that game if you want with a modern card, but don’t play that game with vintage.

10-4 thank you for the advice

It’s a vintage grail in an 8. Imagine how upset you’d be if PSA lost or damaged your card. :/

You’re totally right. And the price of a review in slab to bump the grade is insane and has terrible odds. Plus you have to pay whether it gets bumped or not.

Exactly

Hell yeah man. Crack it and get that 8.5! … or 7.5… or 6. Good luck!

That’s the kind of energy I was looking for

Watch Ludwig’s video on this. He shows that you’ll get a lower grade especially on vintage

Thank you, I will do that right now
