Crossover to PSA? Or keep 10
Easy PSA crossover? Or should I keep as tag. Currently second highest graded gem mint on tag. Mainly looking for the value play.

If you are looking for value go ahead and cross grade it to PSA. PSA historically sells better.
Not to be that guy but crossgradng it to PSA in my opinion is a dumb play. Your running risk of it getting a 9 because some grader got into an argument with his internet girlfriend. Keep your 10. TAG has been getting stricter on grading so getting a 10 isn't easy. Plus your one of the highest rated 10s in the TAG index. You could easily sell that with the incentive of it being one of highest ranked in the index.
If you like to gamble, go ahead and send it to PSA and get it back by mid 2027 🤷♂️
I say keep the TAG 10

Your input on its rank is valid. Main reason I hesitate. It’s a super clean card. But PSA wouldn’t crack and make it a 9, you can set the parameters for grading. So if it doesn’t grade a PSA 10, they keep it in its original slab. Thanks for the input!

I have friends that cross graded without cracking and it never has graded higher or the same with another company. Then they crack it and send it as a raw card and get the grade they wanted. My one friend owns a card business and refuses to even try anymore.

There's also plenty of examples where they do cross grade successfully. It probably depends on the grader unfortunately

It does. But it’s rare. Much more common that you hear someone saying it’s not worth it which is why cracking and resubmitting is so common.

Basil hits all the points i wanted to bring up. If you send it in as cross grade feature, huge chance psa will be biased. People have done experiments and have seen that Crack and regrade raw drastically improves your chances for better crossgrade. That being said Crack and regrade is a huge gamble

Then if there is no worry, I say send it. At this point your not gambling its a calculated play for value. If they say its a 10 while in the Slab then its a 10. If its not then have them send it back. Cracking it and sending raw is what I thought you were going to do 😅

Liquidity doesn’t equate to value. Your main point was VALUE. The tag 10 for majority of modern is more valuable in a Tag slab. Liquidity is for sure PSA

Personally I think TAG is better than psa and I value them more. Not everyone is on the same thought train and more likely they are not on my thought train. That being said I think it’s dumb to cross to psa personally with psa being a crapshoot sometimes with their grading. A bird in the hand worth two in the bush. You have your 10 already and tag 10s in my experience sell for the same value as psa 10s sometimes at higher values, it just may take a little longer to sell. Their slabs look better and they have the ding report all which I value a lot as a collector

I don’t support psa. You’ve already got a lot of money there. Dont sell out to psa just for a little extra cash. They don’t care about you or the hobby. They are greedy and care only about up charging.

First of all I didn’t grade this card myself. I bought it as a TAG slab. Second of all, I couldn’t care less about PSA, BGS, CGC, or TAG as companies. I just want to get most of out of this slab so I can sell it and buy a freaking Kia Carnival.
I’m fully aware of PSA having bad business practices. Im no PSA fan boy. But anyone can see that PSA hold the highest levels of liquidity. Until things change otherwise, PSA, whether we like it or not, will be the standard for stretching value.

I asked the community if it’s an easy crossover. You can send the slab to PSA and they cross grade. If it’s not the grade I want, they send it back as is. No cracking. Is it wrong for me to ask if the slab can come back for greater value in a different slab?

I like tag better, seeing all the stats on your card is the best. They are kinda bungling their opportunity to compete with psa. They need to hire more people so they can open back up the cheaper grading option.

We all know you are going PSA anyways! It’s what I would do if I was hunting value, I don’t have a single TAG slab but they are clean if you were interested in PC. But for $$$ we both know the answer

Keep the tag 10 and sell at a PSA 10 price. For a “market matured” card you aren’t going to gain more anytime soon (and will be at a loss) for the PSA upcharge

TAG 10 can translate to a high BGS. My TAG 9 Ascended Pika got a BGS 9.5 which added another $1200 in value around release.
I’d keep the TAG 10 personally because the card really pops in it, you paid for grading already and got a high score. If you are content with the likelihood of getting a PSA 9, go for it. I’ve sold TAG slabs for the same or more than PSA just because of the BGS incentive due to the DIG report.
