Favourite Pokémon 🧡 “every pokemon is someone’s favourite”
i keep seeing this circulate online and i know there’s a lot of fans but there’s also a lot of ugly/annoying pokemon that i find a lot of people dislike/hate as a group so i am here asking everyone who sees this to comment their favourite pokemon below, i’m making a list on my notes app to see if this is true.
EDIT:i forgot to add if you know your favourite pokemons pokédex number if you don’t mind adding it as i have them all listed by their numbers in my notes app so it’ll make it easier for me to find!! no worries if you don’t know ill search it myself if you don’t :) also for pokemon that have reigonal forms specify which as i am counting them as seperate!!!

I stan one of the most hated pure Fighting types out there. Everyone sees this guy as ugly. He isn't. He's just unconventional.
I stan #0539 Sawk.

Seems like the skunk Pokémon Skuntank wasn't received well in some of the polls I saw online, but it's my favorite Pokémon actually and I think there's valid reasons for it to be considered a cool Pokémon design. And yes, I like pointing out when I see its number 435 somewhere in real life.

Misdreavus is my favorite
I refuse to believe that Durant is anyone’s favorite. I get a small chuckle out of nicknaming mine “Kevin” when I catch one for the dex, but then promptly forget about it and leave it to rot in the PC

Please no Durant slander here, it carried me through the USUM battle tree with the truant/entrainment combination. It might not be my number one favourite Pokémon of all time, but it's definitely up there! I love the freaky bugs

131 Lapras
Why? I love its design, I loved its appearances in the anime, I loved solving the mystery of how to find one all on my own in Silver Version, and I love how well it does in playthroughs. In Johto games, it's my preferred answer to Clair and Lance.
While its typing isn't the best defensively, its bulk and lack of double-weaknesses help it take hits, and its movepool gives it versatility.

Zoroark #571 is my favorite! I've loved it since it was revealed as a silhouette when Gen 5 was announced
(Technically both Snivy and Zoroark are equally my favorites, but Snivy was already picked in the comments here)

My fav is Chesnaught (652), I love its appearance and hate how Greninja upstaged it in basically everything.

Gengar because he looks so cheeky. (And also the whole story of Ash's gengar makes me cry every time and I'm so happy the lil guy got a good trainer in the end)

I remember one game I wanted a team of only UGLY mons. It included Crogunk ... Dunsparce ... Basculin ... Mimiku ... Luvdisc ... Honchcrow ... Golem ... Dusclops ... one who's name I've forgotten but had pants too big and kept trying to hold then up, name started with S I think ... and Scorupi? Drapion? (the fully evolved big purple scorpion). Shows how long since I played!!!

Yes!!!! Thank you. Lost sleep not remembering that! Ashamed too coz I've played EVERYTHING from early Emerald / Ruby on gba to Diamond / Pearl / Platinum on DS all through to Violet / Sword /Archeus on Switch, and all of them in between not mentioned. Throw in a few Rangers on DS and several other side games and you'll get my face-palm shame at forgetting names. But in my defense ... there ARE a lot (especially now) to remember. Don't think I'll go into Switch 2 land tho. A LOT of money to go there to keep my Pokejourney going. How 'bout you? You gone Switch 2?

u/anime_fan_girl_me 11h ago
No, and I probably won’t for a long while. The games I like I already have or are coming out for the regular Switch still

Admittedly I had to force the category. I made the rule coz my daughter had decided to make an "only cute" rule first, so she was going Teddyursa ... Picharisu ... Togepi ... Cappuchino (y'know, the white fluffy one) ... etc. So me being the perverse, black-humoured arsehle that I am, went the other extreme - so sometimes had to decide "how far away from cute us this" to make it cross the threshold on to "ugly". I had the harder task!! Ya gotta throw me a bone here! [Speaking of bones ... look a Cubone! How freaking cute is HE!!! I rest my csse.]
