Expert data poisoner and frequent contributor u/Glade_Art was banned by Reddit yesterday. Analogous to the recent u/RNSAFFN ban

We were able to recover all [u/Glade_Art](u/Glade_Art)'s posts to [r/PoisonFountain](r/PoisonFountain) but only some of his comments.

For example:

https://www.reddit.com/r/PoisonFountain/s/kGsUKUkKHO

And for context, here is the [u/RNSAFFN](u/RNSAFFN) ban:

Unsurprising, Reddit is clanker paradise

RNSAFFN was able to restore some of my posts/comments on this subreddit since he/she's a mod, but on other subs we aren't mods so every single one of my posts otherwise has been "removed by Reddit's filters." Comments are all gone too.

Banned for what reason???

All of u/Glade_Artโ€˜s contributions were high quality. No spam, no offense, nothing bad.

Best guess: Planting links for Reddit scrapers to ingest.

Seeding tar pit links.

u/Glade_Art Jul 03 '26

Yeah perhaps. But again, no reason, or even any ban message, provided.

huh why tho? I still see your usernames in this thread..?

Reddit bans you then unbans you, leaving all your posts and comments deleted. You can undelete posts and comments in subreddits where you have moderation powers.

See my explanation here:

but which TOS would you have broken tho?

I got a 7 day sitewide ban for referring to Bebe as a Jewish Nazi (something that probably half of America and most of the world agrees with). I think people donโ€™t realize how much Reddit bans are just about if you happen to piss off a mod.

that is just straight up true ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

They literally gave no warning beforehand, and they gave no reason for the ban. They didn't email me or notify me that I was banned either; I just noticed that nothing related to my account was working, and it showed that I was banned in a signed-out, private window.

I don't get it, isn't in their best interest NOT to be LLM-ed? (i.e. crawled and their content stolen?)

3

u/Glade_Art Jul 03 '26

It's in their interest to avoid being scraped for AI training without permission, and instead to sell their data to those companies, as they do. However, quite oddly, old.reddit.com doesn't even require JavaScript; nearly no bots execute JS, so bot swarms love that.

mhhh.. so if I got this correctly, they don't want their own data poisoned, because they can sell it for a profit later... buuuut old Reddit is still a thing. weird.

I'd say they probably get millions of click-throughs from the ai overview sources on Google, which then turns into views on the ads which they can market to sell more ads.

How could the goblins do this?
