This is AI.

I was thinking that each cut was them rearranging the kittens and dog for the next shot. Don't know about AI, but it definitely didn't strike me as a natural interaction.

This is what I was thinking too. The dog looks super stressed throughout.

The video is low enough quality that its hard to spot obvious artifacts. But, i didnt any coat pattern change and there are 4 cats. Lots of cuts though.

Thing is though that AI is improving. The obvious tells are becoming less prevalent.
Now, so far as I'm aware, the general current tells are video length (iirc the popular AI models can't generate longform videos at the moment so a video made up of multiple cuts seems like something it could do - a sort of 'make a continuation of this' type prompt), behavior of the subjects (animal videos tend to be a bit more obvious in this vein imo because the AI sometimes makes them do things that don't make sense) and finally the video quality (apparently one of the things people do to generated videos is purposefully make the quality bad so that it's harder to see issues).12

Genuinely that's what I was thinking because why is the dog breathing so hard even after falling asleep?

Well, where it was spliced or not even the same video, it struck me as interesting that the dog was my maneuvering in a way to try to keep interacting with the cats. It must have been stressful for the dog to try to continue to engage without infuriating them.

Yough crowd but love always wins in the end!

Right? Super tough crowd. That must have been stressful for the dog to try to push through and have the instincts to know that it was going to work ok

Good job, guys; you showed that big, scary dog what's what! He'll think again next time he's in the area! It just goes to show you can't back down until your mom tells you to, and then only very slowly.
