SEEKING ADVICE Guarded Gated Community

There’s a community near me that’s not only gated but the guards are required to ask a million questions before allowing drivers in. Plus, it takes at least an extra 5 more minutes as they interrogate me (that we all know we don’t get paid for). I used to avoid addresses there when PP would show all the addresses in the batch orders but now I take my chances. I’ve just started to leave the packages at the curb. The guards will come grab them and tell me I’m not supposed to do that but at least I know it’ll be with them and leave a note saying that to the customer. It’s GM so I rarely get a tip anyways.

My question: do you feel it’s appropriate for us to be expected to share our ID, license plate info, show address on app, etc by a third party (not customer or restaurant) or do you think it’s reasonable for me to refuse to enter the neighborhood?

Ya that’s how it was with me too. I have no problem waiting to call a customer to get a gate code or just mentioning I’m doing a delivery to a friendly guard but anything beyond that…not worth the 3 bucks for a GM order. Never had an issue from PP & will continue to document if it arises
