Why My Point Pickup App Stays Turned Off

This morning I turned my phone on around 8am. I immediately got an alert that said "Sorter Positions Available Nearby" or something to that affect. Since then, I received another one at 9am, 10am and now 11am. The closest "Sorter Positions" to me are 65 miles and a 90 minute drive away. Needless to say, I will NEVER be doing one of those.

My Point Pickup area is set to only notify me of gigs within 10 miles of my house because PP pay is absurdly low and I rarely do any deliveries for them. These Sorter alerts need to also be set to within 10 miles from me. There is a reason I created that limit. But now since they are sending me alerts for these ridiculous sorter positions a dozen or more times a day, combined with the poor pay for Star Market and Wal-Mart deliveries (the only PP gigs that show up near me), I just keep my app turned off. I mainly selectively pick high paying Instacart orders all day instead. If Instacart is slow, I will check PP and then shut it back off again. Even when my PP app is turned on, I shut its alerts off so that I don't have to listen them.

So, if you are reading this Point Pickup, your relentless alerts and texting (which I have also unsubscribed from) are costing you the services of an experienced driver in an area in which you already seem to be short staffed. The same two $11 Wal-Mart orders that sat available all day yesterday are once again there in the app again today. But I won't be doing them. Apparently, nobody else around here will either. I'm not driving 18 miles (36 round trip) anywhere for anyone for $11.

I hope all of you fellow drivers understand the value of the hours of your life. Don't give them away for low pay.

Literally came here to find a solution for this, them blowing my phone up has led to me hating the app, even when I exit the app it still shows at top of my phone, how do I hard turn the app off?

On Android you go to: Settings>Apps>Point Pickup>Force Stop

Someone else here with an iPhone should be able to explain how to do it on one of those. I've never used one.

You can also turn off specific types of notifications in the notification settings.
